Nora is a good journalist but a bad podcaster. She cuts people off when they are making their point in every single episode. It’s so annoying to listeners and disrespectful to her colleagues. Steven/Sheil/Ben are good people man.
Other shows out in the wild throwing a million stats at me trying to show which RB backfield i should be buying into, here its all vibes based. Ever since Moneyball came out, the nerds have swung the narrative too far in their direction. You can take the guy with great EPA on screens, give me the guy with the hot girlfriend!
Bruh Goff is between the 10th and 15th best QB, you see Baker and Geno getting 35M or so, that's what the fair price is around 40-45M, over 50M is an overpay
What he's about to pocket is publicized. Its not like you have a PR team announcing how much you are set to make with your podunk day job for 2024. Besides more money -- more problems. Stay counting your coins lil man.
Steven Ruiz, please get the facts straight. Jared Goff is not getting the same amount of money Patrick Mahomes gets. Mahomes contract is spread out over a decade and he'll be paid half a billion dollars when all is said and done. Goff's contract with the Rams and his extension with the Lions comes to a little over $342 million (130 + 212). Goff's getting a lot of money but it is not Mahomes money. And just because the teams structure contracts differently does not make Goff earning more. It is a BS thing to suggest. Patrick Mahomes came into the NFL in 2017 and Goff was named the opening day starter for the Rams. Mahomes has the most wins by a QB from 2017 through the 2023 season with 74. Tom Brady is next with 68 wins, Jared Goff comes in third with a total of 66 wins. Goff has won both games against Mahomes that he has played. Jared Goff, as a number 1 overall pick, when playing against other quarterbacks who were chosen first in their draft class has 17 wins against 4 losses. Goff deserves the dough and all the props for what he's accomplished. He 's been the QB to take two doormat franchises to the top of the NFC twice (Rams had no winning record for 13 straight years and the Lions had never hosted a playoff game or won a playoff game at home in the Super Bowl era). Kurt Warner is the only other guy who can make that claim and he's in the Hall of Fame. Look at the NFL+ rewind in that championship game, St eve,on the throw to Josh Reynolds it was a good throw right in the hands. Reynolds makes that catch 9 out of 10 times. Reynolds dropped another 3rd down perfect throw a series later. That's sports. You need to stop with your preconceived bias. Your co-hosts have a much better grip.
I doubt the Cowboys can afford to pay Parsons, Lamb, and Prescott and fifty other players. And they have learned that Prescott is a more athletic Cousins-puts up good numbers and can’t win in the postseason. Jerry should take his medicine and let Prescott walk.
The alternative is you tell him to play this year and see what he gets on the market next year and counter that. No decent team in their right mind is paying Goff that much money on the market next year. Teams have gotten so desperate for a relevant QB they're over paying guys that are worth half their salary.
No decent team will even get the chance to pay a good QB that kind of Money. Good QBs don't hit the market, so what are the teams doing with all that cap space? Free Agency for QBs who are proven starters, not even elite, is a money printer, because there are not enough Proven QB starters for every team in the NFL to have one.
If he doesn't get 100% of what the Lions paid (which he probably would), it would have been no less than 98%. I suppose it is possible he only gets $52 million as opposed to $53 million. He was going to get paid. You can easily see a world where numerous teams would want Goff next offseason (NYJ, Cle, Pit, Ten, LV, Den, LAR, Car, NO, and NYG all could be in the market for Goff or free agent Dak). Media talking heads don't have their job tied to results. Actual coaches and front office people do, so they are going to pay the 29-year old QB who literally averages 4,200 yards and 26 TDs with a 65% completion rate a year since 2017. Even if you think Goff is only worth $42 or 43 million, a GM and coach will think he can get the production of a $10 million player from a 2nd year 4th rounder to compensate. It is a reasonable gamble seeing as how it happens regularly. What could get you fired is thinking we are better off signing Mac Jones or Justin Fields or drafting some QB just to pretend there is hope next offseason and putting the savings to the rest of the roster, because Jones and Fields have already gotten people fired.
“It’s a bad idea…but they had to do it”. Then it wasn’t a bad idea, if you are an adult and understand the choices were worse. Princiotti is exactly right.
It's the Cowgirls. One and done Dak. A head coach who was fired from GB due to plain vanilla offense any good team could figure out easily and a moron GM who hires him expecting better. Jerry Jones will never see another super bowl again in his limited life time left. Yeah make it worst buy re-signing Dak to a over 60 million a year for one and done.
This is a perfect example of how national media and a lot of smaller shows don’t give a damn about the Texans till they’re good. For example, host mentioned that Texans did this with a majority of homegrown players, but nearly half the roster was prove it 1-2 years guys. We have drafted better in the past few years but really gotta give GM Nick Caserio some credit for bringing in a lot of guys who came in performed and earned new contracts in HOU or else where. Or the whole Tank Dell doesn’t have a Diggs ceiling bro tank was a 3rd round rookie on pace for 1100 yards and 10+ TDs before he broke his leg. I get they’re different skillsets and Diggs is bigger and more established but don’t discount Dell’s trajectory due to you not knowing the Texans! Enjoy the squad nick is building they’re going to be good with CJ running the show.
The offseason moves make sense jf you look at them from the lense that the texans are only planning for the short term. They wanna be able to move on if this version of the team can’t win it all.
Texans have every single key cornerstone position covered with a franchise player and all of them on their rookie deals except for Tunsil. LT, QB, DE, CB and WR all have elite cornerstone players and all young.
The guy on the left is iffy on the Texans offseason moves?! "They didnt knock it out of the park"...what?!?! Danielle Hunter, a huge upgrade over Greenard! Greenard was only that good bc teams had to gameplan for Anderson. It made Greenard's days a lot easier. Hunter was Minnesota's Anderson. They brought in a low key beast in Autry. Who are you going to double, Anderson or Hunter? Oh wait! Here is Autry coming up the middle! The D-line alone is 2x+ better. Cashman leaves...decent tackler, horrible cover LB. Cashman missed a ton of tackles. Azziz is a massive upgrade over Cashman, better tackler and way better in coverage. Mixon is onle of the best RBs in the league and can catch really nicely! Massive upgrade to the run game. No matter what you say, Diggs commands CB1 coverage. This instantly catapults the Texans receiving core to top 5 in the league. Collins is a #1, Diggs is a #1 and Dell low key could be better than the two! Good luck having a LB, CB 3 or safety cover Dell 😂 They brought in former 1st round corners who have high potential but could of just been a victim of bad defensive gameplanning or bad coaching in the NFL. Time will tell on them but they could be the steal of FA. Make it make sense fella, the Texans had a Super Bowl caliber offseason with their moves!
Greenard left in FA and signed with Viking same as Hunter except vice versa. A trade of sorts but not really. Really every spot that had a guy leave in FA....Cashman, Greenard, Singletary, etc credit to those guys for helping make 2023 what it was, but the replacements are all upgrades. And Tank is going to be a very good WR and really already is. Way that guy runs routes? Call it Tanksgiving cause he's about to carve a turkey up.
By the way, I like your presentation. Your background is easy to look at, your voice is good, you are articulate and not spastic. I think you have a lot of talent as a broadcaster. Keep up the good work.
