Welcome to pingponged tv! This is the channel where Matilda Ekholm and Galia Dvorak, both professional table tennis players, talk about pingpong with each other and with top players from around the world. Suggestions? Leave a comment in any of our videos!
Hello, how are you. The reverse, pendulum serve is difficult to perform. Is this service effective in the game? Is it worth learning? I will ask for your opinion and the opinions of table tennis players.
Please advise the correct thickness of edge tape. I am using Timo Boll ALC blade 5.8 mm thick, with Rakza Extra Hard Max on one side and Butterfly Tenergy 05 FX 2.1 mm on the other side. Many Thanks and Best Regards.
Very Informative. Relaxed upper body, quick feet, and stability. I have a request, cud u pls make a video on developing more power while moving, eg: pivot and then fh corner.
Hello Matilda / Galia. Question. At the very highest level, when receiving serve, what percentage of the time are you sure whether the server has used underspin or topsin, despite their (legal) attempts to conceal the contact. How often can you tell what spin was used?
Hi! Thanks for a good question. The best servers makes it hard to ever be sure of the spin! Against those players I try to look on the bounce rather than their movement. After some time I get better at understanding the spin but sometimes it takes long. I would say I can almost always see if it is topspin or underspin but the question is how much sidespin there is. That makes a big difference. Hope that helps. One thing to try when you have problems is to hit the ball low and in the center of your own racket to make the spin react less/ Mati
Hi! we just added automatically generated subs in arabic to this video. Sorry I cannot promise they are great, but for sure it helps to understand a bit what we are talking about :)
Thank you very much for those kind words. I am using Tenergy 05 but on the softer side (93 grams) and Liu Shiwen blade (discontinued). It's a fairly slow blade with a lot of vibration, good feeling ;)
Thanks fot your comment. Most of the time, if the serve is spinny enough and I serve diagonal - the opponent will receive it to my middle. I usually get ready to use my forehand after the serve. If I make the serve parallell, they are likely to play it to my forehand. But obviously this also depends of the opponent - how skilled they are and how strategic their mind is.
@@PaulSilvaPage Absolutely! I well performed backhand serve can be just as effective. Especially in times or among players where the backhand serve is less used. People tend to receive well against serves that everyone uses and worse against serves that are rarely used.
