Glad you like how it looks. I definitely will show the progress of the vegetables. I will stake the tomatoes but I don’t know what I will use. It depends on how they grow.❤️Grandpa🧑🏻🌾
Maybe Grandpa could share a few things about where he grew up and his family, or what he did for a living. It would be great to get to know his history a bit. Where did he learn to garden so well? Thanks GP :)
Oh I felt that when you said you had to take up some bricks and do it again. That's some hard work but it looks nice! I would love to see more videos on how the buckets work. Also, cooking videos on what you make from the produce? Thanks, Grandpa! ❤
Yes I had to take up some bricks and level the ground and put the bricks back. I definitely will be making videos and showing how my plants are growing at different stages in the buckets. Of course more recipes also. ❤️Grandpa🧑🏻🌾
I just cooked 3 corn on the cob in my croc pot with a dash of salt and butter, on high for 4 hours and removed. Corn was DELICIOUS. Came here to see what I could do with the juice. Maybe add some veggies?
Wow Grandpa! Far out that's awesome!! No wonder Grandma DIGS YA!! Love the pavers! Nice work! Keep us posted! Cool! I'm going to look into Electroculture and PowerSurge for growing a garden. Well done Grandpa! I'm glad you got the burpless cucumbers! Lol Don't want the neighbors listening into dinner time antics! Lol lol 😂😂
I have read about Electroculture and Power Surge for growing a garden. I may give it a try someday. I will definitely be showing everyone how my plants are growing at different stages in the buckets. Burpless cucumbers are the best. I hope my pickling cucumbers do well this year. Last year I did not get very many.❤️Grandpa🧑🏻🌾
@@GrandmaFeral Awesome Grandpa!! It looks great so far. I love your fancy paver design work!! Anything to keep the smile on Grandma's face, aye? 😋 Keep us updated pls Grandpa!! Thank you!! 😎👍🏻
That's not only practical, but very pretty, with the nice area for pots at the end. Looking forward to watching it grow. Would you tuck in some herbs at the bottom of the taller plants, or do you have a herb garden elsewhere?
Glad you like it. I will be showing everyone how the plants are growing in the buckets at different stages. Grandma sometimes has herbs growing in the house. I may try some in the garden.❤️Grandpa🧑🏻🌾
I made some and froze them after breading them, and just heated them in the toaster oven, they are so good!!! You dont even have to fry them they are so good. Thank you for the recipe.
Wat to grandpa, nice job. I’m gearing down this year with one raised bed to ease the bending over also. I miss the big garden but not the weeding and bending, that’s what senior citizens do. Be well, be safe and happy gardening.
Excellent! I've had great success growing a container garden in 5 gallon buckets, but you've taken container gardening to a whole new level. It looks fantastic!
Looks great Grandpa. Did you make drain holes in the bottom of the buckets? Wish you would have showed more of the soil and fertilizer if used, and where did you get your plants, or did you start from seed? God bless youz both!❤
Thank you! Yes I did put 5 drain holes in the bottom of each bucket. Each bucket contains 3/4 of top soil 1/4 of raised bed miracle grow soil. For the first time I purchased my plants at Stew Leonard’s. ❤️Grandpa🧑🏻🌾
Thanks so much for sharing this with us, Grandpa! these 'raised" gardens seem to be all the rage these days, no bending down to weed!! Thanks too, for sharing that delightful Long Island accent with us, the word "tomato" becomes 'TOMATA."!!
It works very well for people in FL., no more bugs that eat up the plants and much less watering because your watering is controlled. Good luck on your plants,
I found your mashed potato cookie video while scouring the Internet for just such a recipe. I'm making them this weekend and I'm looking forward to working my way through all your cooking videos!
Hi Grandma and Grandpa! Sorry I’ve been away. This is a lot of work Grandpa, but what a great new garden! So far, we have gotten some radishes, cucumbers, and yellow squash out of our vegetable garden. We also have growing Early Girl tomatoes, Parks Whoppers tomatoes, and some cherry tomatoes (I forgot the variety), pumpkins (both orange and black ones- won’t be big until the fall), peas, green beans, and of course, zucchini! Last season I was too ill to bake zucchini bread, but I’m a lot better, and we have a lot of IOU’s out there for zucchini bread! I know that Grandma makes that, and other great muffins, quickbreads, etc. I think your ideas for this garden are great, Grandpa! I bet you will have virtually no trouble with wild “critters” and with many bugs who won’t like the buckets! The brick work you have laid down is beautiful!!!! Compared to our prices in Northern California at the different home improvement stores, you got a great price! Looking forward to seeing how thing go!
Hi Polly Alice we are so happy to hear from you again. Grandpa worked many days to get the garden completed. Your vegetable garden sounds wonderful with a large variety of plants. We will definitely be showing everyone how are vegetables are growing since this is the first time we are using buckets. Grandpa did not want to be bending down anymore pulling out weeds. We were glad Home Depot had the bricks on sale for Memorial Day. Everything is so expensive especially lumber. We love zucchini bread so delicious. Take Care! Love Grandma👩🏻& Grandpa🧑🏻🌾
@@nancyestrada9058 He's right, Nancy. Bug sprays kill _all_ the bugs, not just the ones you don't like. That's why honey bees, butterflies, and other useful insects are endangered. Birds, bats, and other small creatures depend on insects to survive.
