Messing with upgrades to the ubiquitous 2-stroke motorized bicycle kits, trying to hit motorcycle-like speeds on simple bicycle frames.

You should see how fast one would go with dual carbs on a single engine that would be cool and what kind of exhaust is that it's nice

Stihl is known to have rings drop into their intake ports. They had a “Tonsil” built into the intake port to give ring support.
@Houseworksaws
@Houseworksaws 5 месяцев назад
Leave the bottom ring off or you can notch the ring and put the ring gap wherever you want. Lastly you can remove the pin, drill a new hole and use a drill bit one size larger than the hole you drilled drive the drill bit in and cut it off to make a new pin.

I have a phantom 85 version 2 with over a 1000 miles on her I'm a firm believer in breaking them in that means no speeds over 20 mph first tank of fuel and even after brake in you don't want to push it more than 85to90% throttle they can't take it even back in the day on my Suzuki RM 250 dirt bike same thing I'm telling you from experience ride safe brother

U blew it up because ur only supposed to ride them a mile at a time and let it cool down before your next break in ride.. u really got what you deserved.that and you bought a phantom 85. In my opinion they are junk any.every one I know that bought one had problems with them.here I am with a 100 cc ktaxon 2 stroke iron sleeve engine still running long and strong.ahhhhhhhhhhh

Guys, you're better off building a minarelli or buying a complete engine from california motorbikes for $200 like I did (wildcat ultra minarelli), it produces much more horsepower (5-6hp stock!), i dont think will have cooling issues unlike phantoms, has upgraded conrod bearings etc. I port matched the transfer ports on bottom end, spacer and the jug, going to widen up the exhaust port and the ridge inside (not in the cylinder yet), the skirt etc for more horsepower (up to 8-10hp with jog pipe, vm20 carb.) Next thing I gotta do is hone out the cylinder so the piston won't seize or soft seize when it gets hot and expands while the iron jug doesn't in time. Just make sure to replace bearings and take the metal shields off only in the inside on the crank case lol

Apparently. I’ve had the Dyno taken apart for nearly a year now as I want to make the flyweight inertia calculation more accurate. Because I just ran a different program with everything else the same- and it showed HP like 30% too low to be possible lmao. -I don’t think stockers have just 0.8hp, or that I can go 60mph with 3.5-4 lol. (Don’t remember the real #’s)

Which one, the new one I’m using instead? It’s a stihl MS380 chainsaw piston. But it wasn’t a perfect fit, you’d need to stack 3+ base gaskets if you can’t machine down the height like I had to. I should have used an 044 piston which at least is more common/cheap than 380
