OH MY GOSH-it took me a sec.2 recooperate from the shock of not only seeing how simple this method was,but to find that the end result actually even looked better than pretty much all of the beginning row/centers from other tutorials that I've seen & made(which has been btwn.6-10 videos all about how 2 crochet in the round+starting methods,& most featured the magic ring(which I've had the absolute worst time trying 2 learn of anything else in yarn craft so far, lol). Anyways,2day w/the video I watched right b4 this,I finally completed a nice looking magic ring "starter center/1st row". I was so relieved & really proud of myself..Now after seeing this,I'm basically reeling from the fact that, had I found this video days ago,&/or if only it had been the 1st tutorial I'd watched, then I prob.could've avoided so much frustration & self doubt. Seriously,I think I tried & gave up on about 10 vids,& I just was not getting how 2 start the m.ring & was almost gonna give up & just use 1of the chain methods,& if my stuff was gonna be left w/a hole in the center, then so be it,lol..It was awful 2 be left feeling as defeated & inadequate as i did by last night & til a little while ago 2day becuz it was going on like 3days in a row of failed attempts until giving up..I only put in about a hr.or so btwn. reading "how to" advice online &/or watching a few vids at least 1 time a day tho. Also, I was at least able 2 make all the other chain in the rounds methods just fine, but giving up & not able 2 follow the parts of videos teaching the m.r...Why would any1 want 2 go 2 the trouble of doing any other method, after learning how easy this 1 is 2 do & how great it turns out?!?
I started today.im trying to make a top but it's pretty hard I've watched ur vid alot of times, your really good at teaching its hard for everyone at the start but now I'm picking up it the (2end row) and yeah ty
I pull down slightly with the left hand where I'm pinching the work with my thumb and forefinger. If your working yarn (the one you ate trying to pull through the 2 loops) is slipping off the hook as you are trying to pull it through, try making the hook part face downwards so it doesn't catch the other loops on the way through.
If you are printing from my website tap the printer button in the post. It opens printfriendly and you can click to remove images, text and change the size of you font. You can remove anything you don't need/want before you print it. Hope this helps!
Do you happen to have a video where can you show how to change colors in the foundation row? I know how to change colors and I should know how to do this but I'm having the worst time
@oombawkadesigncrochet we're in the process of moving to another house here in town. We are doing ok. Missing my fb friends. (FB Got wiped out by Verizon rep when they were setting up my new phone! 😡 Hugs to you, your family and the crocheting community.😘😘😘
This is such a beautiful piece. I need some serious HELP, anybody? Please help. I have completed the blanket except the edging. I’m confused where she says “do not join.” Why? It leaves the that corner open and I don’t know what to do after that. Please help, please?
So if I needed to color change in the foundation row, do I draw up the new color and pull through the last three loops of the previous color? I'm a little confused about this
Hi! If the foundation chain matches the hdc colors for the color change section, I think changing on the yarn over before the 3 loops will work. If the pattern was written with a different color foundation chain all the way across and only the hdc portion is switching to Color B it could be more tricky to keep that the same. If the Designer has added an edging that covers the chain parts though (so you won't be able to see it was a different color) then it would hide it ;) and just working the section as you thought with the color change on the last yarn over before pulling through the 3 loops should work just fine. Hope this helps!
