The difference in flavour to Indian food outside of India in my opinion, is from the freshness of the produce - everything is cooked fresh to order in general, using freshly ground spices and seasonings, along with fresh produce.

I’ve been to Boracay a few times and my experience with places to stay is this…This island is awesome and also tiny, so it doesn’t matter where you stay because wherever you end up you’re always a short walk or trike ride from anywhere else on the island. And (this is important if you’re on a budget) it seems like you only use the room to change or shower, the rest of your day is out exploring. Your room will always be close enough to go back to throughout the day by foot or trike because the island is small.
