@@mustangrebuilder Yep, the Del Ray was the lowest trim package. No power steering , No power brakes, No power anything. And a straight 6. They didn't sell a lot of Del Rays that year, or any year after that and eventually dropped the Del Ray from the line all together. With that being said , now , with the Del Ray being that rarest , I'd like to find one. Hell, ya can't even find the Del Ray badges anymore.

One is sitting in a rich guys collection, one is rusting in some hillbillys backyard, one is kept nice in a heated garage by an old man who can't walk anymore, one is in the junkyard, one is in the bottom of the river, one is parked in the town square somewhere, etc. Crazy to think about

I definitely remember a business associate of Dad's pulling up to the house in almost that year but earlier, with 4 round headlights. Probably all of two days into possession. It was a hot early evening in like, June or July, so he left the windows down. Me, being unschooled in what is and is not acceptable at that age, poked my head in, and to this day, I can smell the fresh apholstry and carpet.
I had the last year they made it. It had that big 500 engine. Maroon with a hard top all leather. I got busted at 2 am drag racing 2 kids in whatever they had. They dared me at the light. Left em in the dirt but a cop saw us and busted me and he let me go cuz he was laughing at the kids who thought they could beat me. I loved that car.
