Try getting your chin up over the bar. See how it feels. Feel the difference. That is your goal for a proper pull up. You should be able to now if not soon. Then typewriter pull ups before one handed ones. That's at least the build up I went with. Eventually if you want I think you could benefit from having a pull up bar that has different grips, primarily regular, wide and short grips. Get those gains bro.
