Watched this as i'm playing against Lurtz LL tonight. its been interesting to listen, i.e. the Glorfindel example was interesting. And the fact that Aragorn only needs to survive one round against the Balrog. I wonder if the heroic challenge can be used to pull enemy heroes out of position so that any special buffs. i.e. banners will miss some of the army. Basically against Lurtz LL i need to keep my hero at the back until i'm ready to charge in.
Tbh that would be good to pull heroes out oof position or let them not react to the rest of your army if you shift the battleline! Love it! I am happy you found it interesting!
In the 3-600 point range I prefer to knock the last row off my pike block so I can include a triad of kataphracti in the same warband. It helps with Malestrome deployments and saves a few points to spend on casters and now dragon cultists
I haven't tried it with Bur Dur, but I successfully played Shagrat with the Dwimmerlaik, and a budget Witch King was pretty hilarious watching them try and deal with Shagrat with the Dwimmerlaik and 2 wraiths casting spells on them. It's probably not a terrible archetype with the tainted, either. I imagine X2 Drain Courage + a bur dur or a wild warg or maybe a feel beast in there somewhere to kill them to break, and you will probably win with the tainted ability + the -1 courage aura.
That sounds good to me...I hear "Multiple wraiths" haha I will have to have a deeper look into Barad Dur and see what I can make from it! You have peaked my intrest in it
Protection of the valar wont help against shad'e AOE ability. And thankfully this army is almost immune to the barrow wight's paralyse with its other abilities.
Hey, I was wondering if we are ever going to see that bat swarm video you mentioned a few months ago. Apparently, you have some killer strats you were going to share. Anyway, cheers for the video; as always, it is quality work.
New to DG. Not really sure how to get the best setup for a 10 man Plague marine unit. 10th edition! I'd like the best set up for pure shooting. What weapons and how many do I take, and who is the best leader/s for 10man shooting unit ? Please help me. i so confusion
Nice to see you active again Shadow!! :) I recently got back into MESBG and been binging on all your older guides and it was sad to see you'd gone but amazing timing on the come back! ^^ hehe. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see what else is on the way! :)
Ever considered alli in some Dol Guldor? He hates mirkwood spiders, if not then 100% aim to get him off his horse to reduce his range and mobility. Magic is your friend but if your playing Azogs hunters then just do your best to use your speed to try to get him prone (No banner help if he is porne) Or keep him away from the main army to limit the buffs
Was wondering where in the rulebook does it state you can move 6" cast a spell then move again? New to the game and a friend of mine wants to see the rule before allowing it basically. Thank you and your content is great!
Me and my friends play a 2000 point game and i take the witch king, umbar, khamul, Marshall, shadow lord and undying every game. Its soooo much fun and such a chaotic game 😅
I personally find for beginners you don't want to give them alot if options. A simple army that doesn't have alot of options so the list builds themselves. I also find beginners usually like killing things at first over always playing the objectives, so a really good hero or quality troops come a long way. Reason why i think elf armies and return of the king legendary Legion are the best for beginners. For evil i think azogs hunters, extremely hard hitting cost efficient orcs that doesn't need spears so a beginner doesn't need to screw up positioning them and lots of shooting let beginners use it more.

I have been playing just Mordor for 2 years, and the WK is probably my favourite hero ever. I love running him on horse along with kahmul on fell beast, and it is absurdly frustrating for opponents as nobody knows how to deal with wraiths, but I have to say, he has got to be one of the most difficult heroes to play for beginners or if you don't have experience with him
Youy are indeed cultured! Good taste ;) And yes I agree wraiths in general are harder to master for beginners but the only way I got better with them was to play them over and over haha or watch a Shadow Wraith vid ;)
First-time viewer and new MESBG player here, so I apologize if this has been covered already. But I got the Battle of Osgiliath set and primarily play Mordor. What are your thoughts on the balancing of that set straight-out-of-the-box? My conclusion is that Gothmog really, really needs another subordinate hero in with him so that he can field all of the Orcs that are in the box. That, and the fact that the Gondor side has Rangers of Ithilien pretty much built in so it can bypass the bow-limit somewhat, make me think it's not very balanced out-of-box, but what are your thoughts on the matter? Thanks, and have a good day. (Subscribed)
Thank you for the sub!!!! Welcome to MESBG! As for your question i rarely find scenarios balanced especially for evil forces most of the time :/ I think your right Gothmog needed one more captain level hero with him to really balance it out as Gondor has a lot of tools to play with and well tbh it feels like GW want good guys to win (Booooooo) hahaha the game itself when you add to your armies become a lot more balanced as your Orcs have a bit more punch than gondor warriors :) I think (My opinion) we need magic to deal with good heroes to make them drool so the witch king is a deffo add for me (And its on theme)
You can usually find it if you search for dice roller, dice portal :) There are quite a few and a bunch of maps even have them in it already (Mainly 40k maps tho)
The same thing happened to me with their customer service! A box of Barrow Wights never flagged as dispatched, a month passed and I emailed them & they sent me a new box for free, two days later the missing order turned up! Great video, thank you for the advice!
I went to nova this year (in the states) played against assault on lothlorien, goblin town, and azogs legend and I bet 2 of the 3 pretty easily. Miss played against goblin town but the list I couldn’t even get a wound on the was beorings! Hate those bears!
