@@mkjjoe If you plan to broadcast an interview globally, the least you can do is speak English or put English subtitles on. And if you like, then you also put subtitles in your language, but English must come first. English is the most important language in the world, and it is disrespectful to your audience to speak in a language that is not understood globally. This is not an opinion, it is a fact.

Europe 1's target audience simply understand French as they always have, and part of them wouldn't follow in English, so this would simply not be an objective improvement. I've been through the hurdles in professional settings, I can't even imagine how ridiculous it would get that people gather in a typically French setting and force themselves in a language "just in case". That doesn't mean foreigners shouldn't be able to enjoy it, but by your logic absolutely everything should always be done in English to arbitrarily match the most spoken language. Context matters, so does understanding a culture. I don't get why you feel compelled to communicate a simple preference in such a petty way, maybe ask for proper subtitles or wait for AI to generate translated audio.
