Hey everyone! My name is Kylie and I'm a military wife and a stay-at-home-mom to our son, Cole and daughter, Allie. Originally from Maine, I was working as a registered dental hygienist and I also have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. My husband and I were fortunate enough to get married right before the pandemic hit and we’ve now moved from VA to our first home together in NC.
During his deployments, you can find me doing DIY projects all over our house to upgrade it to a style that’s more fitting for us. That’s right, I’ve traded in my dental instruments for power drills and paint brushes, and I’m filming all of it in hopes to give anyone out there who’s looking for some motivation and encouragement that you have the power to makeover your home, even while on a budget.
Please subscribe so you can follow along our journey of military life, growing our little family, and making NC our home!
I have done my small lobby with this style 'Comet' floor pops. Yes I too had trouble matching them up, but I did the best I could, and they turned out pretty good. You have to look close to see the 'bad' bits ... and they have stood up well after 18 months and all the coming and going they have endured. I am pleased overall 👍👍✔
Was wondering the same about how you did around the toilet. Did you remove it and then place it back? Been searching vids to see if the only way is removing. The floor looks great. It’s worth the time and some aggravation imo. 👍🏼
I would have just taken off the quarter round at the bottom. It looks really good and getting it done with a baby is awesome. I want to do this in my bathroom at home and in the rv. Would yall use a large pattern in a small area or a small pattern?
I laid similiar tiles. I used extra glue as not happy with the adhesiveon the tile. My pattern on my tiles didnt match but you have to look really closely to notice.
Hmmm I quite like these tiles. Not sure where I would put them. If that's even a good idea. Maybe I could create a temporary "rug" like option using these tiles?
My husband just finished our bathroom floor using Floorpops. It looks amazing! It's easier though if you don't have as many corners to worry about but was able to make templates. Our new hexagon black and white tile floor looks so much better than the hideous fake wood sheet vinyl that had been laid by the previous owner.

Cheaper one at that and they did nothing to it old ass carpet messed vinyl flooring in the kitchen and in the bathroom I plan to take up the carpet and put new carpet and I plan to do the flooring like what you did in the flooring the peel and stick flooring in my kitchen and bathroom.

Seeing you cry honestly made me feel very stressed and that means I feel very sorry for you. But i want you to know it’s NOT your fault and it’s not that your body didn’t cooperate, it’s not something you could control. I hope your husband is giving you all the emotional support you need and make you realize how strong you were to go through all of these.
Thank you so much for sharing your birth story with us. I am amazed how calm and composed you are in that situation. I hope you and your family are doing great!!!
@misskylielizabeth please know that your feelings are 100% valid. As a woman, especially one that has birthed vaginally before it of course makes sense you'd want to do that again. Also it is your right not to want a c section!! The person who left this comment probably had a c section themselves and left this comment out of their own insecurity. It's okay if you didn't want one. Nonetheless, with time you can hopefully heal from your experience not just physically but also mentally. You did your absolutely best. Be proud of yourself :)
Beautiful. You went threw so much I'm just happy she was born! ❤️ Congratulations on your new baby girl. I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant with my third child. I'm having a girl. God bless
My heart goes out to you. What a stressful, draining, traumatic experience . I think it’s amazing that your doctors were respectful of your wishes and did all they could before doing a c-section. Hope you and baby are doing better and better each day.
You poor girl!! They should have just done a c-section sooner...it would have been better for you AND baby...every time they put you on, then took you off pitocin was too much for you and baby. You have a vivid imagination about a c-section...move all your organs around?...ummm right...and there is hardly ANY difference between an epidural and spinal. There is a lil difference in placement between the epidural space...and the sac with cerebrospinal fluid...which is why there is IMMEDIATE relief with a spinal. You made it sound like a c-section is like the WORST thing that can happen, and it's so NOT...I hope any young pregnant ladies don't think that way after watching this. In this case it just should have happened a lot sooner!! A c-section IS NOT HORRIBLE! The worst you basically feel us pressure from the doctor getting through the different layers...then getting baby through as small a hole as they can...so us mothers don't have a HUGE scar. You were lucky with after all that time, it wasn't an EMERGENCY c-section...cuz then you would have been put under and would have missed the birth completely. I truly pray that your baby continues to grow stronger and get those lil baby pounds on!! I wasn't trying to be mean...but just trying to show you, that you needed to focus on the positives in the situation...instead of the poor pitiful me. Mama's go through c-sections all the time...yours was no diferent, except maybe the time they waited before stopped torturing you and baby with induction techniques and meds. Congratulations to you and your husband!!
I wasn’t looking for a pity party, I was just explaining my experience. My doctors were just trying to supportive in me wanting a vaginal delivery since my body did it fine before with my first born, and that neither them nor I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t this time. Obviously this is a rare instance where I was in the induction process for 97 hours. You can’t possibly understand the emotional and mental exhaustion I was in that after all that, I had to have a c-section, I felt really defeated. Everybody’s experience is different, please don’t tell me how I’m “suppose to feel” when you have no clue. But she’s doing great, thanks.
