Interesting when I was in my 20's it was 2hrs and 30 minutes for 9 holes. That would be 5 hours for 18. So all of a sudden you should play faster when the population on the golf course is actually older. The reason is the course wants to make more money!!

We high handicappers should play from the red tees. For really high handicappers, play it like a scramble to save time with a 7 for a maximum hole score. Everyone can shoot an OK score and get done in a reasonable amount of time.
When I was five years old , in 1980 , Atari video games came out, Golf was one of the games. Horrible graphics compared to today’s graphic games. Being said that, I love the original game ! In grade school my dad bought me clubs w my first and last name on my golf case…,I had the golf ball return machine. All this inspired me like the 80’s Golf champions on tv. How is the nearest point 15 yards left in the fairway when he could have moved it 5 to the right and not be on his line? I’m of the opinion that he dropped in the wrong place even if he was allowed the drop. That’s a rules official problem too.
ive only played golf a few times.. with people who have played lots. when we had 4 group with two complete rookies and two decent players if we were slow we offered the better players behind us to go on ahead. the guys behind them were just as bad as us as a group and then things went on regular. the guys behind us originally were always waiting on us after a few holes of that we asked them if they wanted to go ahead and of course they said yes though they also said they didnt care really but you know thats because most people out there are cool. good players cant expect rookies to keep up with them.
If that scoreboard is in his way at any moment of the flight he's intending to play the shot ... it's a free drop .... can't play the shot and get another one IF it hits the board cause that board is already on his mind affecting the process of his play ... pretty obvious! I've seen these guys use and abuse rules stuck close to all kinds of "things" bullsh**** that they "need" to hit it this and that way to get a drop when everyone see's it's not the way anyone would hit the shot .... every but of course THAT person...
I tried Kirkland balls and they don't last. They get cut up really fast, but for the price it's not a big deal to use a bunch during the round. They play otherwise.

I have a old blue callaway rogue that is awesome... I tried the paradym x and didn't like it... I didn't find it to be more forgiving at all... I couldn't hit it for shit....

Why not address the elephant in the room. I mean when you hit a great tee shot down the middle of the fairway and it ends up in a divot that someone couldn’t be bothered to replace and you can’t get a drop. I can’t believe a rule hasn’t been brought in to fix this issue.
Very sad state of affairs, I only get to play once a week due to work and family commitments and usually play early or late on my own so i dont have to be gone all day Its hard in the uk as we have such wet winters now, struggle to find dry courses near me so end up not going. I find the better courses have better booking systems and sell of peak t times for better prices. Id happily pay more for green fees but no point in membership until i retire or divorce 😂
the old members are a nightmare my local course has a few old gents with all the gear and no idea i was on the first tea 285 yds par 4 and im waiting for the players in front to putt out and the four old boys were huffing and puffing about me waiting one of them piped up you can go anytime we havent all day i said they are still on the green he replied ok tiger woods the other 3 laughed i then proceeded to knock the ball to within 4 ft of the hole turn my back on them and smiled all the way down the fairway i hoped they all felt foolish

I am wondering if excessive alcohol had any bearing on this confrontation? No excuse at all for any type of violence on a golf course, but sometimes excessive drinking just "primes the pump" so to speak. A worse case would be genuine anger issues here. 😐
Dont hate the player, hate the idiots writing rules that are ambiguous and allow players relief from their horrible shots when the obstruction isnt really an obstruction. There is a difference between a line of site and an obstruction.
