As for some people's opinion that "expat" is a fancy word for travelers with money, grow up and Google a simple word, or don't take it personally when someone disses on an aspect of your existence. An expat is a person living outside their home country, but has no plans to either settle or return . They're in limbo, hence the term "EXpat". Of course, y'all will just ignore the facts, so go ahead if you feel better diminishing other individuals.
It was a great honor to meet Gen. Urschler about 20 years ago in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was flying a beautiful P51 Mustang named Gunfighter. My daughter has a fond memory of getting to sit in the cockpit and then seeing the airplane fly wingtip to wingtip with an F15 Eagle. 🫡 very nice man.

General Urschler was my wing commander at Rickenabcker AFB in Ohio. I remember the first time we had a base open house and he had a bunch of the Confederate Air Force aircraft show up. I volunteered for the weekend duty because I wanted to see all of the aircraft that I dreamed of as a young boy. I remember having to work on a few of the aircraft because they had issues. I was barely 18 and was in seventh heaven. I remember later in the next week, he came by our shop to say Thank You for working that weekend. Needless to say that made such a strong impression on me. I remember my shop chief and the squadron commander weren't to happy with me because Colonel Urschler (at that time) showed up unannounced and they thought that I had somehow invited him to come by the shop without telling them. Col. Urschler cleared that up with them. I wish there was a way I could communicate with him and let him know how much of a positive force he was on me. At moment, to live in Japan is good. Because of depopulation in small towin, there are very good offers some times free of charge an old house with land if you are not in hurry. If you prefer to go to Albania, it is recommended to chose not in Durres but Greece side. Sea water and land view are much better and clearn.
Those picture you see are the General, my dad, Fortin, Brockel and Hall. Im not sure why it was shown 3 times. I think the general had an affinity with that group. I know my dad was the shit when it came to navigation and, Brockel was the best copilot. General Urschler brought my dad back home every single time and for that I thank him for that.
My dad was a navigator for him in the RB-49. He use to come over to our house. I found him very nice, but intimidating. You can ask him about my dad, Colonel Daniel Birmingham. My dad told me very amazing stories about flying with him, and Captain David Brockel.
During my Air Force career, General Urshler called me up to HQ ESC and wanted to wish me the best of luck as I was about to go PCS to England. I still have postcards he would send me in response to wishing him birthday wishes. His portrait he gave me still hangs in my home. He is a great man!
