My Grandad appears on here. He was Billy Hill and had the Pawnbrokers on High St. in Hanky Park, Old Salford and can be seen in the photograph of his shop stood in the doorway, in a clip from the famous film ' Love on the Dole' apart poverty in Salford in the 50's.
i remember the old picture house ( then the bingo hall ) mysteriously burning down in about 1992 along with the rugby ground , i lived in Dumbell st from '88 to 2019 and i remember the Beehive pub on Queensway before it became Holyrood kids nursery
Some of Marcel Donne's covers are the only ones I accept. There are almost no covers of 64 tunes which do justice to the original 64 tune. With Marcel Donne's he has had to really get inside the tune and envelop himself in it so he really feels what the original was trying to do. This enables him to accentuate some of the elements hard to create on a SID and add colour and embellishments of his own without diluting the heart of the original SID version.
Excellent video. Grew up in Clifton (Falcon Crescent) from 1984-2006. Haven't lived there since. Would love to go back to the time these photos were taken. Looks so much more serene and peaceful. edit: my house is in the photo at 3:02 (obviously before I existed)
Norco pickle factory, bloody hell. I had a market stall over the road, when the Norco lot used to come outside for a cig, they smelled of vinegar. Happy days.
Brought back some lovely memories. Especially the phone box over the way from Barratt's shop. I spent many mornings makeing a call from there. Happy days :)
Weird. I totally thought of this song when I heard the credits song of S02E09 of Dirk Gently ("Trouble is Bad"). It's not the same but damn, the vibes.

@@WickerMan73 Hi thanks for getting back to me! I lived at 109 Falcon from 1980 onwards, it was a great place to grow up. Thanks for posting these they have brought back many good memories for me =)
I think it looks like my old house they are playing outside of (124, second from the left). I would have said I'm 99.9% sure it is. I might be wrong but I'm sure it is. The layout is the same anyway.
