The USSR was hiding behind weakness for 50 years after WW2. Hence their obsession with secrecy and authority. And they were more afraid of their own people than they were of NATO. Eventually they lost the cold war without a shot being fired. And lost their spear of influence over 14 or is it 15 Soviet bloc countries.
43:33 Von Strohiem was Jewish and had a scar on his forehead. So, perhaps given this theory, perhaps Von Strohiem was the victim of an Antisemitic attack early in life.
This amazing film could end homelessness in our country! I can't wait to have a home to watch it in once again! Love love love this beautiful story!!! William Powell is beyond incredible love him! :)
This is an excellent production and I enjoyed the part about Gloria Swanson. Rudolph Valentino's portion of this was, to me, exceptionally well done. I had never seen a treatment of his life as complete as this one. James Mason has always been a favorite actor of mine and choosing him to narrate for Valentino was perfect. Thank you for showing this.
The expressive faces of William Farnum and his brother Dustin knock me out every time. They should both be a household word today, not Chaplin and Valentino.
Why is Veronica Lake always type cast in these femme fatale rolls, surely she could have played other role`s, she might look like a dumb blonde but she certainly wasnt.
This woman was so stunning , not just to look at but her mannerisms Were so fresh and innocent. She was amazing and intelligent. The fact that she always played herself is why I think she comes across so believable and honest on film. And that haircut was so avant garde and chic it was a beautiful black contrast against her pale skin. She looked like a doll and she wasn't built like a bombshell , she was build like a dancer and her neck and shoulders were made to be kissed. With one of the most heart warming smiles she was a true siren of the screen. ❤❤❤
Roscoe wasn't the first with the truth bent like the railroaded tracks the press put him on and over 100 years later not the last for paper sales and everything technology wise since mind now more people can use there common sense but back then not all cases regardless the results the noose was made before he opened his mouth to pleade his case.great documentaries 👍🏴
