I have the same receiver too (just got it this month), but there is a hallow sound to the vocals and it sounds a little dry too. I wish it sounded like yours. Is there a way to refresh the sound quality? I cringe when people stack components on top of each other. It scratches the tops and chokes the air vents from getting proper and full ventilation. The tops even heat up too and it is not good to heat up another component more with them on top.
The turntable is moved to another place from top, yes it heats up too much. Do you have a remote control, check speaker distances and subwoofer off. Maybe it needs some a new capacitors, these getting older if device is unused very long time. The turntable needs RIAA-amp also, can't connect directly. I have also another set with Yamaha M-65 amp, this is a real wax off sound, lot's of bass and power.
This station seems to propagate further than it should given its 250W power. Many reports around Europe. I hear it quite well ( am 40 miles away!) with a lot of noise, but if I go to the Twente WebSDR, they seem to get better reception than me. I think they either have a magic aerial, or are putting out more then 250W, or are in a very special area for propagation.
excellent signal. this is their station song-style jingle "hayu korea bangsong". at 15 seconds you also hear the Taiwan FRS ID as Mathias has already pointed out. two great logs at the same time as we say in German, got two flies with one clap lol. well done. heard FRK few days ago with news in Korean only but now I have a nice movie with a couple of IDs and strong signal. unfortunately, I do not have concrete adress for QSL of National Intelligence . only discription of the area and part of the city. Now I have contacted the embassy. maybe they can forward my letter. Hope they will respond. would love to send a letter with audio CD to NIS . no matter what consequences this might have, it could result in a very special, personal letter. keep my fingers crossed for you in case you did contact them . did you manage to find out QSL address so far, successfully?
