Let's Plays, tutorials, funny experiments are my thing thing. Come watch me as I play builder, survival and sandbox games. TinyPirate is known for writing "Getting Started with Dwarf Fortress" and talking far too much.

...and in case you're wondering about my accent - I'm from New Zealand. There's a good 65% chance you're listening to hobbits when you watch my videos.
A little advice. Construct your starting buildings faster (don't wait for one to finish to start the next). Also, don't deconstruct your landing craft until you have to (because you are likely out of metal). Parts in the craft don't decay. Moving forward, batteries are as important as solar panels (or other sources of power) - if you can survive a sandstorm during the day because your stored power can outlast it and a night (e.g. a 24 hour period without solar power) then your solar panels can recharge your batteries when the sun rises again. Also, I, personally, build at the start - 1 largest available solar panel, battery water collector, and oxygen generator as they all allow your colony to grow without causing problems. I also tend to build my starting 'base buildings' in a direction I do not intend to build them in the long run, allowing me to build larger more efficient buildings in the opposite direction and destroy the other ones as able and needed without running into the aggravating 'you can't destroy that because it connects to other buildings'. Using the above solar panel and battery strategy, I only ever need those two items in regard to power. You always make sure you have enough batteries to handle a 24 hour outage and enough solar panels to get you at least half recharged when solar power is restored. And make sure to keep spares producing as power production reduces when your power production facilities deteriorate. I don't worry about recruiting new colonists (landing pad) until I have the largest size (at the beginning of the game) of each available building type built and have gotten rid of my starting smaller structures.
Thanks for the video. I started with krastorio 2, but i think that mod does does not have SE. Can i still load up an SEmod even though i have K2+Armored biters and 15 hrs of play time? Which mods are you using in this specific game?
It was actually mandatory to mention that one should *first make a copy of KSP and use that "static" copy for CKAN and to play the game.* Not for safety reasons, but to have a version that Steam (or something else) doesn't auto-update all the time, thereby usually causing massive problems with Mods (because Mods only work for specific game versions - they do get updated from time to time, but nothing is synchronyzed).
Very well done. I love how you combine theatre of the mind with thematic images that aren’t tactical gridded maps. Also, adding in the range band rings is brilliant and easy to understand. You are both very descriptive in your combat, successes and failures. Great example of this narrative and fun gaming system. Thanks for creating and sharing this.
Hi, posting here as you video was really informative. Im struggling to add music to the opening crawl thats in the Starwars FFG enhancement module, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

My head fell off loool. I just starved and died at 9
I'd like to see a swarm of small ships with a central ion beam and two disruptors.Have them fire at each other's prisms to link up, while the disruptors stunlock the enemy.
I like to build a mega base near that coal location at the pit its close enough to the water that you can build a water tower to create a pressurized water system and have a pumpless system and there are 3 coal nodes to one side 2 coal nodes to the opposite side and the pit has all 3 base nodes are right there. then trucks are great to go out into the desert to gather all those other nodes
Yooo now when satisfactory has developed a real character of its own, I still think factorio is more fun. One reason why, satisfactory is like a nice cup of coffee, its really nice to play and very relaxing. Factorio is virtual crack, you ”want” to play an hour or two, but you see, green circuit needs expansion, so you need more iron, so you gotta build more miner patches, but your trains is bottlenecking, so you make more, but your rail network cant keep up with so many trains, so you gotta… (you see what I mean, factorio is a loop that traps you until you see belt balancers when you close your eyes and you dream of the oerfect megabase)
@@TinyPirate Absolutely. I don't understand how people can fight over which one is objectively "better". We should be happy that we have such great games in the genre. and yeah while Let's game it out has scarred my brain of satisfactory, it can still be really fun to to just design and build your factory. I mean "satisfying" is in the name after all...
so i thought this just basically made the game still like kerbal but the real solar system and realistic rockets but now im finding out it has real life rocket build times and astronaut training and financial system that leaves you broke in 5 seconds as soon as you start lol... i mean im all for ultra realistic rocketry experiences.. i think thats important but lets just slow down here.. the leap from kerbal to realistic to how do i pay my mortgage and do the companies taxes with this stuff should maybe be the third leap..
I know I'm late by a year or so, but set up the scene walls with a square grid turned on, and the walls will snap to it, and not have any real issues. Then just turn the grid back off when you're done.
Very good video. I have to improve as a GM. I have been doing this for 38 years and still have lots to learn from others. My Star Wars campaign is wrapping up in the next 6 months and people want another one to start with more players. I will need foundry eventually.I agree that battlemaps for FFG products are not needed.
A big selling point of Factorio to me is how the pollution from your factory effects the world, especially Biters. That feeling I get when I finally build up my defenses and watching as hordes, HORDES of biters throwing themselves to the fire.
