I think m also about to reach my crossroad where I will have to choose to follow God or not. Please pray for me, m really not kidding about my crossroad. Thinking of it also terrifies me sometimes. By the way, the volume is on the lower side even with full volume on my earphone.
I will pray for you as you decide which path will lead you in the best direction. It’s scary to confront a major decision. Pray for guidance. Seek counsel from those you trust, who know you well. Blessings on your journey. Thank you for letting me know about the volume.
What do you say when you hear a message from God’s word well presented? I enjoyed it? Good job? Well, no, you can only thank God for His Word and for faithful messengers and thank the messenger for being faithful. Thank you, Alison.
Excellent and uplifting message, Alison. I was so glad to hear you mention Christ’s resurrection, especially at this time of lent and the expectation of Easter. It’s easy to preach about Jesus’s love but skip over his determination to go to Jerusalem to die, knowing he would rise from the dead, having made it possible for all who want to to come to him in faith to live with him forever. That’s the core truth of the Gospel and the ultimate love of Jesus. Keep sharing the true faith and his love, sister, and I will pray for you. 💕
Yes, Alison, that false and hurtful and quite trite message, often spoken carelessly to those suffering-“oh, everything happens for a reason”-is so pervasive among both those who believe in God and also those who have some kind of “faith” in what can only be described as fate. Among Christians, it’s confused with the promise of God found in Romans 8:28: “All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose,” or, better, I think, “God works for the good of those who love him in all things…”. This scripture is worlds apart from the trite and hollow platitude those in the “world”-and some Christians, unfortunately-use so flippantly.
Listen to the interview with him by Krista Tippett, On Being podcast…she replayed it recently after his death. I listened to it twice, it was so gorgeous!
