Home of The Chicken Whisperer Michael and his lovely wife Bobbie are North Carolina Homesteaders who share advice on raising/breeding Chickens AND Goats while also showing our passion for Homesteading. In 2013 Michael created his own breed of chicken. The success of that very breed, along with its integration into gardening ideas, led to the creation of this YT channel. Follow along as we show you how we raise our own food with unique permaculture methods and also how to process and store that food long-term. We will post lots of recipes, easy-to-follow gardening tips, and scientific chicken information in easy-to-understand ways. If you love Chickens, Goats, Gardening, and Cooking, you're in the right place

Im sure someone has did it, but I could never really recommend water bathing meats. We have a pressure canning class coming soon on our website for folks who have never did it, Takes all the fear from canning and shows there is nothing to be afraid of specially with these new canners. We even try to blow one up on purpose ;) Thank you very much for watching and commenting.
We lost a hen yesterday that was black. I am not sure what is getting the chickens here as of late, but we do suspect its an aerial predator. With that said the first chicken we lost we saw a bunch of feathers a bit further back in our property leading us to believe it may be a fox, bobcat or something to that nature. How can we find out other than spotting the animal?
👍👍👍👍 NO TOURISTS! If you can get there, for pete's sake bring food and water. (clothing, blankets, diapers) Volunteer your BACK. Get muddy, cut trees, move lumber. I absolutely agree if they're just there for "the views" that's....disgusting. I feel you, sir. I'm tracking the rescues. Each new bridge put in. That's what I want to see. Not just....devastation. 😟😟 I am outraged to hear there are people who are seeing this as a profitable venture for some reason. Two small truckfulls from our little town, and a few strong young people, headed down to NC yesterday. It's not much; but like many of the people affected, most of us live up here are retired, disabled, etc. So we're collecting and donating whatever we can. IF you guys have VALID collection points; we'd like to know wHERE exactly because we're googling to find clear roads. (From VA, the "other" side of 64.) we need a country wide "bucket brigade" to get goods to the right people. Every day I see another group or company coming in with atv's, mules, planes....I see the Canadian linesmen made it there okay. I agree with your statement. I'm not coming because I can't help that wAY. you don't need a bunch of elderly barely mobile people standing there to "help". I get that. Gods help the people that CAN, and wILL do something. There is so much work to do. I helped clean up the neighbor's flood crushed buildings after Agnes (yes I'm that old) as a kid. I've smelled that mud. The entire world stank of it for months. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
MIC DROP! God bless you for speakin up Michael. Thats about as low as someone can go is tp profit off the misery of others. I hope they hear this message and are struck with sorrow over their hard heartedness and greed. Dispicable humans.
You got that right! It is filth that comes just to film and make themselves look good, not to help others. I'm so thankful you guys are alright. God help them all who lost and with this next hurricane coming. ❤🙏🏼🇺🇲
We couldn’t agree more! Thank you for being true to your heart ❤️ Mike. We continue to pray for all of those fine folks that are impacted by the storm. May God bless all those affected and all those people helping! 🙏
