Its 4 AM, I'm drinking alone despite the fact that many people have advised me not to (i suffer from depression and anxiety) I'm exactly one month away from moving back to my home country (hopefully temporarily) after 6 years of pursuing my dream of getting my bachelor's degree in a foreign country. Im exhausted... I'm mostly disappointed in life, I dont have a purpose of living, I've many regrets, I just wish everything was over. Im giving life a last chance ....
A couple of friends had me listen to this last night. A haunting melody, but not in a bad way I'd say. One of them described it as (if I remember correctly) "a victory song for someone you really don't want to win". Which I'd agree is definitely a fitting description for this song.
Id seen the first fight in a clip somewhere on the Internet and thought that was prety dope, then all of a sudden I unknowingly watched the film just now and the tone, setting, everything about this film reminded me of another underrated scifi film, Hardcore Henry. And this song at the end, uffffff *chef's kiss* so hauntingly amazing and how it ads to the atmosphere!!!!
I wanna make a playlist called "music from movies about 18th century french lesbian painters that goes unreasonably hard" but there's only one song. Someone make more of these.
I think that you’re right, might he did a good performance on this movie, about the real person pain and personal sad history. But his anyway overrated in any platform and on the big and famous HOLLYWOOD!!!
I remember starting to play this game when my girlfriend left me after four and a half years of relationship; I didn't know what to do... To this day I remember this sountrack with great affection, and also the game for helping me to overcome my sadness.
Besides the beautiful tones and melody the song provides as such, I also find it intriguing how - in my opinion - it must have been crafted in mind with the short story "A Haunted House" by Virginia Woolf. Throughout her story, you can find 4 paragraphs that read: 1) "Safe, safe, safe,” the pulse of the house beat softly." 2) "Safe, safe, safe,” the pulse of the house beat gladly." 3) "Safe, safe, safe,” the pulse of the house beat proudly." 4) "Safe, safe, safe,” the pulse of the house beat wildly." The beat just as the slow instrumental crescendo of this song absolutely fit and represent that imagery of Virginia's lyrics in my opinion. And of course it's apparent how also other parts of her story must have heavily influenced Lowery in crafting his film, from its story to its imagery and cinematography. Along with Daniel Hart's soundtrack, it has become the hauntingly beautiful masterpiece we all love. :)
