Hi 👋🏼 I'm Emma, an ex-Londoner living in the English countryside with my husband Simon and our four beautiful dogs. We are child free by choice and are currently renovating our countryside home. Here on my channel I'm documenting slow life in the countryside, home renovations/interiors and my minimalist personal style. Videos are usually posted every Sunday x
I love you wardrobe choices 😊 I was eating a chocolate ice cream while watching and all I could think about is if I had some of your lighter pieces I’d constantly be getting chocolate over them! 😂
Love these staples and in fact most of these are already in my wardrobe. Thanks for inspiring for new combos and new basics but it seems like the discount code is only valid in UK? In EU or only in my case it doesn't work BUT you will get a 15% discount as well if you buy 3 shirts or more. 😊
Thank you for letting me know. I have reached out to Organic Basics this morning to confirm as I wasn't aware of any geographical restrictions. If I hear differently I will let you know 👍
Question: does the wool carpet needs a special vacuum or you find your shark works fine on it?? We have a shark as well that I love and considering a wool looped carpet as well but I have some concerns about the vacuum as the roller can’t be turned off on shark.. and the brushes are also a concern. Thanks! I really don’t want to cough up $600 for a Mille 😭
I hate wearing denim, but when I do wear jeans, it’s Optic White 501s (original, or men’s fit). I just haven’t been able to find women’s jeans with a reasonable fit in 50 years of searching and these come closest. My hips are really narrow, and my body shape is almost straight. I find denim fabric to be very uncomfortable, it’s hot, thick and stiff. But, the stretch denim doesn’t just stay up over my skinny hips, so it has to be 100% cotton. They do look great on, I have to admit, but are always super-tight in the waist, if the hips are going to fit within a few inches. (Women’s jeans have empty flaps of fabric sticking out 3-4 inches from each hip, they look ridiculous). Those tight, button waists really cause stomach pain after a few minutes. I haven’t found a tailor willing to take in the hips on jeans, the flat-felled seams are a nightmare to change. They just don’t seem to be worth all the trouble, so jeans are my last choice of trousers. I got ripped off in the curves department, having a more standard shape would make finding clothes so much easier! But, thanks, Emma, I still like to see what you got.🙂
When shopping for linen blazers I actually look for them *not* to be lined, especially since most linings are polyester (or viscose if you're lucky). That layer of plastic on your skin defeats the purpose of wearing a breathable fabric like linen in the hotter months in my opinion. Thanks for all the inspiration for the coming weeks. I always have a look at your videos when I'm unsure what to wear.
There is nothing like quality cotton basics, its the bedrock of style. Great video as per usual Emma, the light jeans are fantastic, need those. Looking forward to the linen this week. Welcome summer. Thanks Emma.
I always grab a lite weight sweater. I am going to grab my blazers! I do enjoy my black and white sweater. We deal with air conditioning that is very cold. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love your style,Emma and you always have great taste in the pieces you show us on your fashion videos. However, in Greece, it’s almost impossible to even think of sleeves, heavy fabrics such as denim or blazers and cardigans. I get very hot and sweaty here and being a more mature lady, it’s not easy as I prefer to cover my arms and legs so I usually opt for loose dresses, fine linens and thin cottons. I must admit, the unpredictable British weather does allow for a lot more variety of styles and fabrics but having said that, I do hope you get a decent summer.💖🌸
Hi Emma. Great vid as always! I note that you were wearing a men's tee in a couple of the shots. I'm as tall as you and find I often buy men's tees as they tend to be nice and long in the body as well as the arms. Thank you as well for the discount code. I'm definitely going to have a look at the website. Looking forward to the next changeover video! On another note, I'm I right in thinking you once did a video on how you applied your fake tan and what products you use? Love to you, Simon and the Bs. X
Thank you for educating us about organic cotton. Knowing why it is better for the environment is a motivation to purchase it even if it costs a little more. Love your videos.
I totally love how you always elevate your basics. I’ve an idea for a next video. I’d love to see your shorts collection (denim and not denim) I live in southern Spain where we reach easily 35C every day in summer so shorts are a staple for me. But I’m not a teenager any more and don’t want to be showing my back side to everyone or look too “trashy” could you show us how to look decent and even elegant with shorts in summer? 😊 ❤❤
I will definitely be showing more summer outfits on here but also keep your eyes peeled on my blog (link in description box) and on instagram too for inspo ❤️
