Lookin' around at a lot of memories that are now twice as old as I was myself when I was stationed there... Shout out to my fellow hardchargers! Thanks for the tour.
B Co. 2/33 Armor 79-81. The Chapel is still standing. I recognize the guest house across the street and what was, the head shop. Hard to believe everything is now gone.
Hey if you ever get to the point of taking requests from your subscribers, I would like to see a ride in and around Cappel. I have a friend who stayed there while attending the University in Marburg back in the early 70s. I am sure it would bring back enjoyable memories of living there.
I fondly remember when the Brickhaus was a happening little place up until 1997 when Kirchgoens Ayers kaserne, The Rock, closed moving us to Giessen US depot shortly after ariving back from IFOR in Bosnia. Those were days of the past era when America shined as the great power most of the world looked to for guidance to utopian global democracy in unity that was never to be. Our perception of reality back then was one of high honor and pride to be an American soldier contrasting this dystopian future arriving against our will of hope and glory. Looking back, we were so extreme, dramatic, and a bit on the serious as a heartbeat rule of law for standards and expectations were very high.
@@Harley-DavidsonButzbach I am visiting Butzbach in September, unfortunately it won't be on my Harley (2104 Road King). I was stationed at Ayers Kaserne 1973-76 and know that "The Rock" is no longer there. I watched one of your videos that had the Wetzlar HD store in it. If only it had been there in the 70s!😀 Anyway, I really enjoy your videos, especially the Butzbach area, keep them coming they bring back some good memories!
I was stationed down the road in Butzbach from 73-77. I remember being up at KG when then President Ford visited the Kaserne. He gave us a training holiday because of our great performance on a training exercise.
late afternoon rides are the best... I was in Germany in 2019 and was lucky enough to go countryside riding two bikes with a friend around Stuttgart... amazing places
