Extremely good thoughts about importance of presence in now. Thank you. But I also think, to be totally creative, totally free in creation process - fighter must be creator of the martial art itself. It’s hard for me to believe that martial art can be created from pre learned moves. On my subjective opinion any move inside of martial art must be created from personal understanding of motion, of levers that create that motion. The way that all that levers interact with each other. From understanding how inertia and other forces flows through the body, flows through the motion, through the mind. It’s good to increase personal understanding with help of others experience but first of all it’s completely individual process. I believe that every martial artist must create his own martial art from his attempts of understanding body as an physical instrument, as a weapon. Attempts to understand it with empty mind, understand it honestly. Only if fighter will be developer of martial art - he will be able to create absolutely freely in the moment. To develop action using everything that available in the moment of action. I believe that every fighter must achieve the point when he realize that he is not a fighter, he is martial art itself. If every fighter will be the developer first of all - fighters will stop paying too much attention to competing, they will lose fear of defeat and all negative aspects connected with fighting will gone. Because only development and expressing will matter. They will not disrespect the opponent, cause will be grateful for any experience that helps them to develop their art. They will be grateful from understanding that opponents risking their health to give them opportunity to express their martial art. I saw many fighters who stopping to develop as soon as they become champions. When domination is the motive of fighter - he will stop to grow as soon as he will feed that need to dominate. On my opinion the way of martial art must be beyond of the sport, beyond of any title, any domination. Because sooner or later we will achieve that level of power that we will be not able to test it with the opponents honestly, cause risks for opponents health will be too high. I mean in my subjective understanding this road will be infinite. What can be more interesting than art that must be physical effective)) Maximum honestly and free expression from one point, and maximum reflection of world, harmony with the existence, with the physical processes from the other. Sorry that I get too far. I was just exited that I found the person who will understand my feelings about it. With all respect. Sorry for my bad english.
This kind of striking is the future of MMA. The flat fooded Muay Thai guys cant compete with guys who have great footwork like Dillashaw, MVP or Wonderboy. There will soon be a lot more guys using that style.
I realize how wrong my approach to fightungcwas when I was competing. Back then I just focused on how fast my kicks and punches were in comparison to my opponent or how strong I was relative to him. As a result I would either try to outgun or out blast my opponents which worked until I ran up in someone with superior speed or strength. Had I come up in THIS era I would've been able to take advantage of this great strategy.
-:))) this Cool'Point-fight training .. was in fact for help the " trash'talker-kiely " !?! MVP is simply-naturaly .. 1Fast-Serious-Fighter .. Grazie mille .Splendidi i ragazzinel video.
Point sparring is the result (and part of) of your training...good for new people, older people, kids and those looking to compete on various levels, like black belts point sparring, but with no equipment. I've seen dudes get dropped (none of that "tap" you on the head crap), very fast and painful punches.....so you spar at your DoJo or DoJang, you work your ass off, keep the kicks right, work on that jab, speed compensated for power, repetition gets results, go to a place that teaches forms and has a belt system (not MMA).
My Opinion In my OPINION which is true , Rory will end embarrassed just like all MVP opponents .You think that Rorys boring ground game will.work.against MVP ? Mvp is good in the ground too, but he wants to entertain people with stand up attractive fighting , not borimg ground game like Rory and Mousasi. These two boring fighters are far from MVP fighting skillz. They dont have enough striking skillz to beat Mvp
Back in 2002 when I was taking karate. point sparring was considered cool but since the mma explosion came. Point sparring by today seems lame and useless.
Reminds me of broken pattern boxing foot work. I was only fairly decent at it and it worked. When someone really truly practiced and got very proficient at it (page for example has dam near mastered it) it works wonders, especially when both fighters are getting tired or tight. Often when you get short training session from high level fighters or trainers you expect to learn some advanced spinning something or another but usually what you will be taught is how to preform the basics perfectly. Everything builds off of the basics, footwork and distance control.
