16:35 well there is. Just have a Kickstarter 🤷♂️ Because as of right now you're taking customers money and giving them the product. That's the kickstarter program
Didnt watch it all but I'm guessing he didnt mention how they fired an employee for tweeting about being excited to play Hogwarts Legacy and following some right leaning accounts on twitter? Thats another reason people dont like them
Here in June 2024. What’s the top 5 or so limited/rare/awesome Switch games you guys have/want? How many of you will grab the Switch 2? You think the Switch 1 games will go up or down in price?
I prefer the open window preorder and happy to wait. It’s no different to when a big AAA game gets announced months in advance and retailers take preorders the next day.
What gets me is everything thats sold it is available in thier shop, collectors edition i really wanted the other year sold out yet watching other RU-vidr making tours of thier store it isn't sold out i saw stacks and stacks of them, make it make sense
I have never had an issue due to turn around. If they are ordering a small limited run of games then it takes time to manufacture the order. It is not his fault people are too stupid to understand that. Also, I love that they started doing open preorders for a period of time. It beats the old system of having to be ready right when an order goes live in hopes of getting one of 1500 copies before they run out. I would much rather guarantee my game and wait an extra month for the preorder window to close than have the preorder sell out one minute after it opened.
While I like what limited run do in preserving games they are a not a great company overall. You can tell the company is focused heavily on getting that preorder money in and there production and delivery times are insanely long in most cases. If they slimmed down there games they produced at any given time worked on speeding up the process and delivery times as best as possible I think it would help there image alot more That and stop getting involved in stupid drama all the time
For a company that's been doing this as long as LRG, there's no excuse for not building reliable analytics to better anticipate demand for a game, (and therefore start production on before or during preorders). Fulfillment times are just downright atrocious. But of course, instead of hiring data analysts to actually address the issue, they go with the cheap bandaid solution of hiring someone to field complaints 🤦♂️ I don't wish job loss on anyone, but I hope other, more competent publishers start eating some of LRG's market share.
Just goes to show looking at the comments, no matter what people like PR and the interviewee do, there will always be a vocal minority that never have and never will achieve anything in their lives other than post up negativity about people they will never meet.😂
When you claim to get threats, it’s a hollow and empty cry. Show the proof if you claim to receive death threats. It’s also ironic given LRG fired a social media manager for her beliefs that never interfered or interacted with her work.
Brilliant Interview! He really needed tp do something like this so people realize there is a real human on the other end of LR. Cool story, cool store, If I'm ever in the area I would stop in for sure.
Hopefully the video sheds light on LimitedRun. I think k for regular games it all works fine, bundle editions I'm not sure since I don't collect more than the game itself. My only beef is re-releasing games lile Shantae. I understand they have a limited time pre order but a lot of casual gamers (me) don't have the money to buy constantly or when they release. I think re releasing wouldn't be lying or going against what they initially said. If anything make another variant (much lile Celeste coming out again). I think it would help mainly for the top stuff like Persona, Shantae etc.
Maybe I missed something but the comps (ebay) for a lot of the titles Phoenix picked up are right about what he paid for them. Is the idea to sell a ton of stuff with tight margins? that Mario 64 DS cart goes for about 19.99 and with the deal it looked like he got it for maybe 17 or 18?
I would preorder from limited run way more if I didn’t live in Canada. Insane shipping costs. I wish the owner would consider allowing preorders through VGP in Canada so that we could get the games for the actual cost. In fact, I would buy more if there was a way to get free shipping for spending x dollars. A $50 game turns into $80 with shipping from LRG to Canada
