Hiking | Camping | Road Trips with our Aliner Camper!
Welcome! We are Ashlee and Pablo! We call northeast Oklahoma home.
Here at The Happiness Function, we want to show you how to connect with nature, make the most of your time off, and reinvigorate your curiosity in the world.
We founded The Happiness Function to show you how to seek fulfillment outdoors through an active and healthy lifestyle hiking, camping, and road tripping in the USA.
You don't need a lot of money or vacation time to enjoy the local environment. We show you how to keep it simple and just go!
Thanks for joining us as we explore like regular locals!
Thank you ❤ You can bring all of that beach gear! We brought chairs, an umbrella, soft cooler, snorkel gear 👍 You will want it + there is no shade. Have fun 😎
Great video!! Couple of questions: 1. Looks like you’ve replaced the horrific lights inside your Aliner with the bright blue light that keeps me awake all night… was it hard? 2. Do you have any idea what the replacement anode model is for the Suburban water heater?
Hi there! The lights in our camper are the original. Ours is a 2019. Give Aliner a call about replacement parts. They are always helpful when we call them 👍
Hey there! Thanks for the message. We hope you have a really fun time in Colorado. We used to live in Grand Junction and Breckenridge -- lots of great places to camp and hike! Safe travels.
i just bought a aliner lxe i only went out once but had fun you tought me a few tricks thanks., however i live in Arizona not too worried about freezing 😂 thanks for the informative video.
Nice review! This looks like a great park and campground. I tried getting a few nights here recently, but could only get one night. I was able to get 2 nights at Gulf State Park and 5 at Meaher, so all good :)
Thanks for watching. If you’re trying to camp closer to Pensacola, you might try Fort Pickens Campground. You can book on Recreation.gov. Have fun at Gulf State Park. It’s a great campground and the beaches are nice ☀️ Safe travels. Thanks for the message.
My wife and have the same model and year, with a few different options. We love it. It is our"tiny house" for several months each year. Thanks for thevideo. Happy trails! 👍👍
Do you use a plug for the hot water heater? If so, which one? Thanks for the video! Just bought a Ranger 12 and am learning how to winterize without antifreeze.
If you open the bottom drain plug for the hot water before opening the valve on the heater you’ll only have water come out the plug. Otherwise yes it splashes open without the plug open. Great video, thank you!
Can I ask why the jack rests on a cement block and wooden blocks when at the campsite? I've been putting the wheel on the jack before unhooking from the tow vehicle, and lowering the jack. Is that a problem with the weight on the wheel?
It is interesting to watch your videos because we also have an Aliner Ranger 12, which we really enjoy. This video lead me to make one recommendation and ask one question: (1) If there is water in the water heater, ALWAYS relieve the pressure in that tank BEFORE you loosen the anode rod -- especially if you are sanitizing the system with bleach. DAMHIKT. 🙄 (2) Does the "blow-out" technique clear water from the water pump? A small amount of water in the water pump will freeze, expand, and ruin the seals. Perhaps running the water pump while the air compressor is providing pressure will clear the pump. [I winterize our camping by using antifreeze, so I have no experience with the blow-out method.] Thanks for the video. 👍👍
Why it’s soo quite on the beaches in perdido key. This video was published in July I guess. So there should be people and activities on the beach. But I see no one. Do pedido key beach get anyone or it’s always dead quite like that
A couple of things I've learned with my Aliner. 1. When removing the two drain caps under the floor, do not lose the washers that are in the caps! They will sometimes stick to the end of the drain pipe and can fall off without you knowing it. Believe me . . . I know from experience. 2. As an extra precaution with the outdoor shower, the shower hose can be unscrewed from the valve assembly. This way, the entire shower hose can be stored well drained and inside the camper if you want. Really good video guys! Thanks!
Hey there - Thanks for the question. It can get some condensation at the peak. We wipe it down in the morning with a towel or paper towel. We also try to keep the fan at the top open to help with that unless it’s super cold. But I think the big thing is just staying on top of it (wiping it off). We haven’t had any issues with leaks at all. We’ve camped in the pouring rain. Hope that helps. Just bring something to wipe it down and you should be good 👍 Happy camping!
Hi, do you store your Aliner outside? If so, do you leave it with the walls up or down?. Planning to buy one and I need to know if storing it outside in cold weather areas is possible. Thanks for your videos.
Hi Eduardo, we do store ours outside, but we lower it and secure it. We live where there are all four seasons and have had no issues storing it in the cold. We do cover it with an RV cover (got one on Amazon). Let us know if you have more questions. Happy camping!
When we visited in May of 2022, the beaches on the Lagoon side were still closed. So we drove across the bridge to Perdido Key. From there, easy to access the beaches. ☀️
We are enjoying your videos. With content like this your channel will continue to grow. We hope to join the Aliner family after the first of the tear. Happy Travels
Great video. I'm currently looking for a camper and this is the top of my list. Thanks for showing set up and take down esp hooking up to your vehicle. Very helpful! Enjoy and happy camping.
@@thehappinessfunction House construction isn’t finished yet. Won’t be for a few more months. Now we’re campground hosts at Topsail Hill Preserve State park. Your videos started showing up in my RU-vid feed. Nice chatting with y’all as well.
@@AlfredoLopez-gd9wi How exciting! You are almost there. 🏠 We want to visit Top Sail! What a cool gig you have going on. We are headed back to Florida in May. Take good care you two! So fun to see a comment from you! Happy camping. Ashlee & Pablo
