I think the Crown of Risk would have been way better if instead of raising the chance of finding the pickups, it raised the actual pickups number. Like, imagine having double the radiation and entering the Cursed Crystal Caves. You would reach the second level of the Frozen City at Level Ultra. And it wouldn't be free either, as the Cursed Crystal Caves are risky on their own, and the Crown would have made it even worse. So, in exchange of colossal risk, you had bigger gain too.
I don't remember, but maybe I had freeze frames turned down? If you're getting slowdown when hitting a bunch of enemies with a shovel for example, that's intentional and you can turn it down/off. There's also an excellent mod called Nuclear Throne Together where you can change aspect ratio, resolution, and framerate. It also fixes bugs and allows for online co-op. This video is the vanilla game though, so no modding needed for what you see here. If your game is naturally choppy (worse than the usual ~25-30fps) then that's probably just your PC.

I got an overuse injury using my PC too much a couple years ago, so now I sometimes use atypical controls because it is more comfortable or reduces the risk of recurring injury.
I just unlocked Melting B recently myself and I didn't realise you didn't need to loop to unlock it, so I went to the trouble of destroying the generators as well. Never the less it was an extremely satisfactory achievement.
