wonderful piece! i learnt that it didn't have to look like a sad lump of green when painting trees and mountain background. surprised the lake was also green and hope to be able to create as wonderful a piece as yourself one day!
I don't like it. Watercolours work on it bad, messy and looks dirty (I mean very vibrant colours, for example from Roman Szmal, Schmincke, looks less vibrant and very maudy (moody?)) on it. One of worse papers I used. But is good for gouache. I had one and I don't want another one.
Fell asleep to this last night on my tv and I had to come back to say this was so beautiful and so satisfying! You definitely inspired me to get some painting done, look forward to more!
have you ever used this set before? The box is not air tight. This is a common complaint when using Miya Himi gouache for a long period of time. Even with the gouache dried out it still works great! 😊
@@carolynpaints water will always evaporate while the lid is open,(being used) so you'll always have to add water and rehydrate the paints. It's not the box.
@@neggit2063 🤣 She paints this absolutely stunning piece, and you tell her, in your best holier than thou voice, that she doesn't know what she's doing. I wish I didn't know what I was doing as well as her.
I mean your comment sounds very rude, there's better ways to say things. My set is 2 years old and it's as wet as it was when I bought it. And I spend months at a time without painting with it. What do I do? When I use it, I spray water before closing it, I store it inside a ziplock bag so oxygen doesn't get in as much as if it was sitting outside. And whenever I remember, I try to spritz some water to keep the moisture up. I store my watercolor and gouache tubes inside ziplock bags as well to avoid them drying up.
Beautiful ! One suggestion. If some of objects in the scene has a warm colour (like yellow or orange) and some earth colours, I think it would have enhanced the painting even more ! But, the video is an exellent one. Please post more such videos! Best wishes!
Thank you for your comment! That is a great suggestion! I think adding some warmer/earthen colors would have made this piece even more vibrant. I'll try that next time 💕
I love you,re mountins. I wanna try it in oils and whit my watercolours. I always draw whit my favoriete black drawing pencil before i paint whit oils or whit watercolours. I am always do amazed by people who can paint whit out sketching whit a pencil😊 those mountins are so beautifull OMG😱👋🏾😁👍🏾🏔👩🎨
Great painting! I actually prefer using my himi gouache from this dried state. I feel like I get smoother lay down. Thanks for the video. Happy painting!
I'm curious. If you do not have a gouache color, say, Prussian gouache, can you mix watercolor with the base mix to get the hue you want? Not owning but the basic triad of gouache, I've tried mixing white with my tube watercolor. Is that often done?
Did you end up mixing it with your tube watercolors? I haven't tried that myself, but I am sure you could try it! The consistency might be a little different. Gouache is very similar to watercolor, but it has more pigment and is less finely ground (making it more opaque and matte, like acrylic paint).
Very nice painting! Someone either in another video or on a message board found a way to keep the gouache workable -after every use, spray with water and put entire container in a plastic sleeve. I found plastic envelopes at Dollar Tree and it seems to work. If you use the paint somewhat regularly, it should work fantastically. I use mine only occasionally and it takes a lot less effort to rehydrate them now
I prefer to buy the 4 primary colors CMYK that we merge to create any color we want cyan magenta yellow black and white, we pay less then bying a big set that have colors we don't use allot
This is extraordinary. I really want to paint the sky but I tried and failed. I really love your paints. I wish I could paint like u. Sorry if my English is bad
