I miss when computer shorts were crude and full screened like how silent films were full screened. Maybe my comment won’t make any sense but I’m trying to prove that point as I can. I remember my dream was inspired by the short André and Wally B. when my mom and my sister were walking and this real life bee showed up in my way and just wouldn’t leave. My mom and sister were walking far away a distant away while I’m trying to caught up with them but the bee wouldn’t let me go cause it’s still looking at me. So my dream was partially inspired from this scene in André and Wally B. 6:48 and that was it. Never really knew that dreams can be partially influenced by cartoons. I love these earlier to early 2010s Pixar shorts and I mean… they were new back then but now they keep using digitalizing now AI by budgeting reasons that these today aren’t stories anymore, and kids today in this generation are into this kind of media and I’m sick of it. To quote director John Ford (The Searchers, The Quiet Man, Stagecoach and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance) that he said to newcomer director Steven Spielberg after telling him to look over at the paintings in his office, “When the horizons at the top, it’s interesting. When the horizons at the bottom, it’s interesting. When the Horizons in the middle, it’s boring.” We’re still in an era where movies are just marketing budgeted that gets people into not thinking about stories and I think that’s what John Ford was talking about when the horizons in the middle, it’s boring. Nobody in Hollywood, except for people outside of Hollywood, that have no ideas about new projects where creativity and story are important then budget constraints and negative things like that. I prefer to watch the influence of the past where movies and shorts were so good and horizontally fascinating from The Lumiere Brothers to Georges Melies to D.W. Griffith to Charlie Chaplin to Walt Disney to all the way to the mid 2010s when movies and shorts were good. I’m a deep criticizer of anything social media, when technology is a brainwash to filmmakers and studios minds, musicians using synthesizers and electronic robotic music and curse word rapping. I just prefer to listen and be influenced by the past when things were good till things get better again. I love Pixar and Disney, just not the new stuff, except the new Inside Out 2 that’s coming out next month. I would not know a good movie today if it bit me in the face, because I care about storytelling more than anything else. Sometimes I like this documentary about Pixar in the past but it makes me think all the negativity we have today.
