Yes!! I find that both when I'm writing out my thoughts in my journal and also venting them verbally - it can be really healthy as long as I don't start perseverating and getting stuck in my own thought loops.
I think every self care act could be taken to the extreme and turned into a self harm act. It's all about execution following intention and being gentle with myself. On the note of rain specifically, it is most destructive when extremes of too little or too much are combined with inconstancy. In a recent general conference talk from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the comment was made that we are not able to fast all week and then eat our weekly allotment of nutrients in one day.
Yes! This is part of why I try to encourage "small sips" of self-care throughout our days - we can't just fill our cup once a week! And, I love your intentionality around gentleness - that is so important!
