Interesting catch here! Yeah wouldn't call that a misprint, just someone making some very questionable retouching and recoloring decisions. Someone choose to do that stuff. Personally, I liked the Marvel covers with the newly commissioned artwork...but I get why people want the classic art on the cover.
Good review 👍 I loved the magazine too. I spotted Dr Able Stack who was Machine Man 's "father" and James Braddock who obviously has a Captain Britain connection.
I think I prefer the new SSoC to the main Conan run. The story is awesome. When I turned to that page and its a splash page of a dinosaur: that was impactful.
There should be 5 volumes of the softcover too. More than the 3 of the earlier Complete editions which makes me hope they include the ABC Warriors Black Hole story with Nemesis Book Five. The hardcover itself is a BIG book, so much so I'm having trouble finding shelf space for it. It's 31.5cm tall x 21cm wide.
Typical modern western comic. You'd think for a first issue they'd do something memorable and epic to drag the reader in, leave them wanting more, get them hooked. As soon as I heard IDW were involved my heart sank. Sad as I love the cartoon and would love a continuation. Also Dianas costume being changed to cover her stomach is typical pointless modernism.
Your criticisms are spot on. As a fan myself I am as you said disappointed. It seems like a bait and switch. Hoping issue 2 is better. Nice job on this video.
