Wonderful! Thank you for sharing this with us. I am planning my retirement round house around a 30ft diameter courtyard. My vision is slightly different: as much glass as possible, except on the north and eastern quadrants That's where the garage will be located (with garage doors on the outside and inside walls to create a wide thoroughfare), and the bedrooms, furnace room, storage and bedrooms will be. Kitchen, living room with large glass doors opening to the courtyard in the south and west quadrants. A large wood burning fireplace would separate these two spaces. Not sure whether I would have 2 or 3 bedrooms since I live alone. My challenge will be to maximize the square footage of the common living area with a 30 foot courtyard. Cheers!
It's spectacular, but I feel would be best suited as a a really bespoke hotel resort. Something about it feels claustrophobic and shut off, despite the size. I think I just prefer houses that look OUT to their surroundings, rather than looking inward.
1) Closets, closets, closets & Kitchen storage 2) Bathrooms 3) The two essential functions of the impluvium are short circuited: house will be incredibly hot, costing a fortune to cool -- or is the compluvium covered in solar cells that obstruct their own light because they're angled?
Have you tried Twinmotion for your rendering? I used Lumion during Covid and switched to Twinmotion which is free now if under $1million in revenue I believe. Setup is nice btw.
I tried it and it was still very difficult to get the right things on the same layers. I was working on an island with some bridges and it just wasn't working for me. I'm sure it works well for certain areas, but it wasn't for me

Hello Tim so I purchased this lamp svg on Etsy, when I go into my glowforge app and upload the lamp it's really big and because it's 5 different parts how do I know what size to make them all. Also how many sheets of plywood did you use to complete this project?
Hi there! Yes, there are a lot of great examples of courtyard houses in cities where the houses and buildings are connected. You can research Japanese courtyard houses in Tokyo and I’m sure you’ll find a lot of examples.
Looking to build a house but I'd enjoy a open courtyard in the middle to use for garden and relaxing pebble stone pathway would be nice obviously sloping towards the center for a drain dropout I live in arkansas though the weather can barely decide what it's season is at times So I'm trying to find the pros and cons of a courtyard house or if I should got making a sun room but still in the center of the house
That’s an interesting problem to solve. I’m working on a concept for a central courtyard design that has a glass roof enclosure over it. It’s in a northern climate, but the glass roof enclosure would help control the courtyard area’s temperature, humidity, and provide protection from the elements.
I think $28 a month is worth it for laser owners who have a shop that has a focus on maps. Alternatively, the amount of credits you receive for each month is enough to generate plenty of maps, so if you plan ahead and know what you're looking to design, it could be worth it for a 1 month trial run.

Omg. I have a new favourite. This would be the ultimate house as i love thunderstorms and rain and the self sustaining food would make so much sense especially nowadays. Perfect for a family. 😊
Glad you like it! The greenhouse homes are starting to grow in popularity and I've been seeing more of them featured in magazines. I think the concept of a self-sustaining home that also produces all the fruits, veggies, and plants that we eat is starting to appeal to more people around the world
