Yknow, i like to think that all the clipping and out of bounds shenanigans done in sonic games is actually within sonic's canonical scope of abilities. He just goes so much faster than light that he easily phases straight through solid objects and reaches ground before the light can reach his eyes, making it "load" slower and not appear until later.
