Hello all! My name is Jay and I am born and raised in beautiful New Hampshire. I am making this channel for fun, I am not an expert nor do I claim to be one. I just want to have some fun and make hopefully helpful and interesting videos.
I am newer to homesteading so I will learn as I go. We own a beautiful home on 18 acres of land and you will see anything on this channel from firewood, tree cutting, land transformation, mechanics, motorcycles, chainsaws, tool restorations and more plenty to come, so if anything sounds interesting to you follow along!
New videos multiple times a week! #Homesteading #Homestead #Homesteadjay
Good smackdown. My offset plan is owning a home sawmill that actually makes me $ and saves me $ for own use lumber. Simply cutting wood with nice machines doing the heavy lifting. Investment and Profit, directly from your effort. That is 'merica
Big pine trees, I lost over 41 trees in my yard in August. Blue spruce trees and you know how many branches are on each tree. And worst is you can’t even give away the firewood because no one wants it. Great video Jay
I love reliving that one hitting to Ground.. 👍 One thing you needed to tell everyone that where going to crane this one but when Brendan swung you into the top you where looking straight at a WhiteFaced hornets Nest.. 🐝 Too bad you didn’t get that little surprise on video for folks to see.. That would have ruined your entire day right there.. Thank You again!! Go 603
IS HE USING THIS FOR GAS STORAGE? AND HE SAID HIS DAD STORED GAS FOR 10 YRS? IF THATS THE CASE THEN HDPE 2 IS HDPE 2 OTHER THAN THE UV COLOR PROTECTION, TRANSLUCENT BARRELLS NEED BE STORED AWAY FROM SUNLIGHT OR IT WILL WEAKEN AND CRACK OVER TIME. I HAVE CONTACTED 2 PLASTICS MANUFACTURERS ABOUT THIS AND 1 SAID FOR LEGAL REASONS I CANT TELL YOU YOU CAN USE IT FOR THAT PURPOSE BUT HDPE 2 JUST MEANS RECYCLBLE HIGH DENSITY POLY ETHYLENE , I WAS LOOKING FOR MARKINGS ON CAN TO SEE IF I COULD FIND DIFFENENCE BETTWEEN MY GAS CAN AND MY FREE 30 AND 50 GAL DRUMS , I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM ANOTHER PLASTIC MANUFACTURER, HAS ANY BODY ELSE BEEN USING THESE FOR GAS STORAGE LONG TERM? IF SO HOW LONG PLEASE RESPOND
I can’t speak for your barrels your looking at but my dads has his for years stored indoors no problems. Mines stored in a shed. Both away from sunlight. Still no issues.
Are you located in New Hampshire ? I purchased a house in Newport, nh over the summer and it has a Wood Boiler just like yours. I have no idea on how to operate it. Do you or do you know of anyone who would come to my location and show me how to operate this Wood Boiler?
Because learning how to use a chainsaw first with a safety chain limits the chance of a kickback while using it until your properly skilled on using a chainsaw hope that's helpful.🙂
Don't ever ditch a factory safety chain until you know how to run a chainsaw properly it's a lot safer that way This is bad information in regards to that.
I’ve had my outdoor boiler for 24 years, I live in Northern Vt. I have not spent one penny for heat or hot water in those 24 years. Not only do I not buy my wood but I get paid to clear trees. My boiler burns 4ft lengths, I do not split any of it. I can burn hard wood and softwood, green or dry. People who say out door boilers are a waist of time are one of two things. Lazy and/or ignorant and have no clue what there talking about.
Ok Jay, I could use your introduction to your channel for ours, just stumbled across your channel, liking it. We just bought a classic 6048, so I'll be dropping by more. Cheers Mark @ the Cay. 🌴😊🇨🇦👍🍻
That’s the show to go to . There will be a splitter there to fit any need and any price point . Eastonmade , split force and wolf ridge all make great commercial splitters .
That sounds like an awesome trip… Can’t wait to see what you might find.. I will say Andrew Easton is the first guy I would be looking for.. Andrew is such a nice guy.. But that’s my opinion.. hahaha Plus he has a son named Gus.. hahaha Have a great trip.. Oh and that new attachment is going to be a game changer.. Go 603
Planning my 1st visit to Bunyan this year also. I've been following you for 2 years now since I got my Crown Royal installed. You've certainly come a long way from cutting a few little trees out back! I've gotten into the business as well with the purchase of a commercial style stump grinder. Hope I get a chance to meet you and Dad.
@@HomesteadJay Appreciate that. I only watch so many channels as I don't have tons of spare time. That's one of the things I enjoy about August channel. Another large channel I used to watch I mentioned it, my comment was put to the top and I got blast by h8s "army"; it wasn't long after I heard he changed his stance, haven't gone back, just don't need it.
That View was incredible.. like I said in the beginning Please keep watching it gets better.. I can’t say it enough You guys did an Amazing job.. I feel privileged to watch and help… Go 603
