Saw them play this live at Farnborough Tech College in Feb 1971 during college rag week Valentines day gig. I was doing an HND course. Met the guys in the college refectory . Had no idea back then what they were about to become
Early Floyd is the best! There was a nice melodic JAM from the COMMITTEE LP, right after the CHIRPING BIRDS that reminded me of a long lost Floyd song I heard on the radio 32 years ago. It was up-beat about 5 minutes long and had a baroque-like keyboard melody, similar to the KEYBOARD SOUND in the early tunes. There was also a trippy guitar solo and few lyrics. Does anyone know what this song's title might be?
Early Floyd is the best! In fact, there was a nice melodic JAM from the COMMITTEE LP, right after the CHIRPING BIRDS that reminded me of a long lost Floyd song that I heard on the radio 31 years ago. It was upbeat, about 5 minutes long and had a baroque-like keyboard melody and a trippy guitar solo with few lyrics. Does anyone know what this song's title might be?
I like the early Floyd.
This whole piece always has one stagnant bass root throughout, so it takes a lot to keep it interesting. PF makes clever use of the dynamics and shifting chords on top.
What was wrong with producers back then, I would rather see the band playing, then watching endless scener., Same goes for some of the very distracting psychedelic swirling, mess that they put on top of Emerson Lake and Palmer as they played.
...Uh Right On! Always Right After Rocking Out To The Nile , Do The Jack Trippr Rocket and Tranks On This Classic And Then "Bike" The Shih tzu Always Comes In When He Hears The Wind Up Ducks and Cranks!!!

This was my generation’s music. This music expanded your mind. You were forever changed by the experience. Seeing this band in person was truly awe inspiring.
