I was really going for kind of a progressive rock feel on the background music I always try to pick the background music according to the type of review I am doing
Thanks for this! I've been interested in buying it but unsure if I'd love it (on a budget these days). I got into Neil via "Year of the Horse", the sloppiest, wildest, most raw & emotional music of Neil's in my opinion, and my favorite side of him. Sounds like I'll really dig this one.
Good review! I first read it when it first came out. I’ve been considering reading it again. I thought I’d check RU-vid to see if anyone is still talking about it which is how I came across your video . Nice job!
When Harry plays swingin' jazz solo piano he absolutely conquers it. His cover of Avalon is sheer brilliance as well. He should have the courage to out an album of music like this. I know his fist album was solo pianon and again on 30 (well mostly) but I am thinking more of just standards jazz/swing covers album solo piano. That would be amazing. You have great taste imo.
Great video Adam! I enjoyed hearing your thoughts and I look forward to listening to this album myself and maybe getting it on vinyl as it is pretty cheap right now, only 13 dollars or so on Amazon :)
Thanks good buddy great input I’ve never seen muddy tracks am a massive fan of Shaky I hope one day to see it so once again thanks an in the words of the great man himself peace and love and stay blessed ☮️❤️
The bonus track of You Got to Me was recorded in Philadelphia a week prior to the MSG shows. It was slotted where Kentucky Woman is in the MSG concert. He did two shows in Philly that tour. The second night was You Got to Me in that slot. The first night it was Longfellow Serenade. I was lucky enough to attend both Philly shows. Good review dude!
Hi Adam! I saw Neil in Philadelphia a couple months prior to the recording of this album. Heartlight was in fact the closer, not a bonus track. Also, you are correct about no known studio version of “Back in LA”. It’s believed the song was written for an album called “The Story of My Life” which was shelved by the label who made him come up with something more commercial. That is what prompted “Headed for the Future.” Enjoyed your review! All the best!!
