Strange, when the ignition is on, my 996.2 GT3 shows between 1 and 2 bar oil pressure and when the engine starts it goes up to 5 like yours. Maybe it‘s because mine has dry sump 🤷♂️
I really wonder why the Escalade V doesn’t do this? Same engine and makes more power so it definitely needs a break in but they don’t even include anything talking about break in.
Sorry, you probably should have read the owners manual. Recommended break in is 1500 miles in which not to exceed 4000 RPM, 80 mph, and avoid full throttle starts. I guess if your LT4 blows you'll have to argue that it's Cadillac's fault for allowing more than 4000 RPM after 500 miles. So they're not clear on what is really allowed/expected. Warranty states voided if "not following recommended guidelines." Probably need a lawyer to argue that one. If anyone knows the real story, please post. Otherwise I'm afraid others might follow suit. I'm at 900 miles on my 2024 and it's killing me to keep it reigned in.
@@markconroy5844 cars are kind of a personal preference thing so I wouldn't recommend anything. Generally speaking, sure would be nice if Cadillac made a two door, coupe/convertible. When I'm thinking performance cars, they don't have four doors.
@@Tom-kn6srYeah but people buy Cadillac for luxury. Anyone can build a shitbox Civic with 500-600 whp but it's still a Civic at the end of the day. It's luxury and performance you're paying for.
Ordered mine from Sewell in Texas as well. It's scheduled to build last week of Feb. 2024. I live in the Pacific Northwest and considering the standard, unpredictable early spring weather, I'll probably have mine shipped too. Did you instruct them to NOT remove the shipping plastic film?
New cars nowadays (most of them sports cars) require a 500 miles break in period in which the car allows a certain RPM limit for the car to be broken into. It's for the longevity of the engine.
If I recall correctly, it was about $1200 for enclosed trailer delivery. A no-brainer compared to a $300 plane ticket plus a whole day of slogging 800 miles of interstate, getting rock chips.
The Mezger engine in the 996 Turbo uses a dry sump. Many dry sump engines require the engine to be at operating temperature before the oil level can be checked, typically because when the engine is off and cold, excess oil will drain back into the reservoir, resulting in a false reading. The regular 996's engine has a wet sump, which can be checked with a dipstick whether the engine is cold or warm.
Was there something wrong with your cobra to begin with? I just got done installing a VMP blower on my cobra and i think i may have a vacuum leak somewhere since it's idling like crap.
Hi, I have same problem..even after chargin batery, few times start but after a some starts it beguins difficult start and drainig batery. Did you found the problem on your DRZ ?
@@filipelima9012 in that case you need to check wiring. Probably a bad connection or partially rotted wire somewhere, or some thick wire replaced with thinner one. But the best would be to find a mechanic who could at least diagnose it for you. I'm just guessing since I haven't seen your bike and I assume it acts the same as the one in his video. There's also other possible reasons, for example - worn piston rings or piston/cylinder, valve clearances out of spec, carb problems and so on. It would be a different symptoms, but similar in a way - it won't start easily.
At the end, around 18 minutes, I got reprimanded for missing the checkered flag and taking an extra lap. Oops! But, while I'm parked, three other cars, all of which were behind me, also came past. And there was the guy in the Focus RS, parked behind me and getting reprimanded for a questionable pass, as well. So apparently I wasn't the only driver who missed the checkered flag.
