Watching your runs made me want to replay SD, such a fun game. Also noticed something during my replay, throwing melee weapons is pretty OP, seems to one shot all enemies or at least deal massive damage
For that scene with apparently Nishiki, the lady, and the girl in the hospital bed, it makes me think that the demon is the lady with Nishiki like his hired assassin. I imagine the girl is somehow jingewon mafia or something setting up season 2
directed by masaharu take (netflix naked director), 1 to 1 would be a bad idea,, plenty of chance to make it better, but i think the director need to at least like the game, otherwise its just borrowing yakuza/rgg name to make whatever he wants. i know the actors is not allowed to play the game, does he also do not.play the game?
It's very funny like 6-7 hours later and having IGN Japan reveal the cast list cause WHEW this adaptation's gonna be INTERESTING No Haruka is wild, but in return we get Nishiki's sister????? We're in uncharted territory now! No idea where the hell we're going. I'm actually excited cause of that!
Seems like the 10 billion yen was originally the Omi’s in this continuity…not sure what that implies down the line but I am intrigued nonetheless. Also my hunch is that this “Demon of Shinjuku” character is completely original for the show and not somebody from the first game but we’ll see
Man, I thought we were going to see some Desperado strats, but it was all a lie. At least I got my hopes up and tamped back down at the start of the run lol
I pushed hardcore to try to make Desperado work (especially with the Space Opera from Izezaki Ijincho for double weakness hitting on a phase of Ebina) but the issue is there's just *too* many other good options. Host is more busted than ever. There's some new strats not in this run as well that just further push Desperado down sadly. A shame. I love the style so much casually just for the speedrun...Can't make it work out
Thanks for the stream Froob! Was neat to watch the VOD on my lunch break and see your genuine reaction. Regarding the combat, the first thing that popped into my head (especially with the jumping) was Senran Kagura actually. I love the Musou games, but the speed and flow of the combos really reminded me of that kind of fighting style. (I haven’t played DMC so that may be a better comparison as you mentioned.) Anyways, hope ya rest well and looking forward to DR:DR when it’s up!
