One of the plot developments I'd love to see is the negative worship attention Aurene would be getting as the increasingly popular One Elder Dragon instead of just all good guys flocking to her without any conflict. Instead of the Sons of Svanir seemingly being wiped out off screen after the Icebrood Saga (which I hope they won't confirm as true despite dialogue already implying it), it'd be interesting to see the surviving Sons and even the implied female norn worshippers of Jormag (Daughters of Dragon?) mentioned in Dragon Bash dialogue (before that plot was seemingly cut due to Champions condensing and cutting out so many plotlines) to switch their worship from Jormag to Aurene as the new Dragon. After all, Svanir worshipped Dragon as a symbol of strength and survival of the fittest in a predator vs. prey viewpoint, so Aurene slaying and seemingly devouring Jormag (when that magic actually went to Soo-Won whom Aurene would devour later) proves that she's the superior predator and now the apex to worship. So imagine the Sons of Svanir and Daughters of Dragon now killing people in Aurene's name, revering her as the new Dragon, and all the problems that could lead to as fanaticism about Aurene rises (even in Cantha where the locals would likely switch from worshipping Soo-Won to worshipping Aurene as Soo's successor and descendant) and how more humans etc view about Aurene devouring one of the gods. I doubt Bangar is the only one with concerns about Aurene's motives, and there's already personal story lore about High Councillor Flax (leader of Arcane Council) planning for Rata Sum to make the rest of Tyria bow down to them once they've handled the dragon problem, so I could see Flax abusing Aurene's naivety (and/or current slumber) for his own ends while his chessmaster rivals in the Inquest (including the so far unseen Inquest leader) make moves. I'd also like to see Aurene eventually create Prismatic minions of her own so she won't have to always be around to help us out once she wakes up one day in the future. Imagine Aurene creating a pretty Prismatic Shimmerwing Shatterer dragon champion (just like the Shatterers were created from the earth/elements instead of corrupting an existing being) which would be fighting on OUR side against baddies for a change. What I'm curious about in Janthir Wilds is why Ash Imperator Malice is personally accompanying us to Janthir instead of just asking for either Rytlock, Ember Doomforge (who served under her during Drizzlewood despite Ember technically being Vigil now) or one of her tribunes to accompany us instead. Why would the imperator herself want to risk her hide on an expedition and risk problems for her legion when she's the last original imperator (and confirmed direct descendant of the Khan-Ur while we don't know if Crecia, Efram, and Mia Kindleshot are such direct descendants yet) still in power after Bangar's imprisonment? Hopefully the writers properly justify it because it'd be akin to Jennah accompanying us to Janthir instead of Anise... :P

Interestingly we don't see her behind a podium as Isgarren conveniently blocks the view, so that might mean we'll see Empress Ihn herself or possibly Navan representing the Canthan throne (fingers crossed) although I suppose I could also settle for Minister Cho Min (Rama's love interest) as well after they kinda retconned her out of the Kryta visit with the empress in the What Lies Within chapter of EoD despite setting up her trip abroad in Mi-Rae holonews reports in core EoD once the Dragonvoid crisis had been dealt with... Female asura: Councillor Ludo, Dean of the College of Statics and a powerful mesmer. It's nice that she gets the spotlight for a change since personal story because we interacted with her sister Zudo back in The Icebrood Saga Champions. :) Male norn next to Braham: Skarti Knutsson, eldest son of Knut Whitebear and Gaerta Whitebear, and leader of the Wolfborn (the peacekeepers of Hoelbrak). I'm surprised (and pleased) to see Skarti here because previously we've only seen his somewhat goofy and drunken younger brother Sigfast on diplomatic missions (e.g. Caudecus's Manor where the Separatists kidnap Sigfast, as well as one of the delegates around the round table in Eye of the North while playing through The Icebrood Saga Champions). It's about time that Knut's firstborn Skarti gets more development since the last time we interacted with him as there's some interesting lore about the animosity between him and his father about how to deal with the icebrood threat. I imagine that a renowned diplomat like Aife of the Cycle of Dawn (who is as much of a traveler as Caithe, Faolain, and Wynne were back in the day, so it's make sense for her to travel to the meeting) might end up representing the Pale Tree and sylvari as Dawn blooms are skilled diplomats lorewise. Aife did appear alongside Sigfast and other racial representatives around the aforementioned Eye of the North round table during Champions, after all. But since Skarti is here instead of Sigfast (unless the screenshot crops out Sigfast himself but I'd be surprised if he appears alongside his brother), perhaps the Grove might send someone else than Aife for a change. I'd LOVE to see actual conversations between Aife (or whoever the sylvari emissary will be) and Caithe as we haven't really learned about the Firstborn's reaction to their sister's Branding by Aurene and if the bond has remained the same or not as Caithe suggested in EoD prologue how she's outgrown many of the sylvari due to her unique experiences, sadly. I'd just love to see some sibling conversations, please, ANet. Gimme more sylvari lore. :/
@@JebroUnity You're welcome. Of course it's not 100% confirmed as of yet but if you compare the asura in the screenshot to Ludo's image on the wiki, it's 1:1 resemblance. It would be extremely weird lorewise if Rata Sum sent some random asura ambassador with Ludo's exact looks to represent them in the Tyrian Alliance (as the screenshot's asura is standing behind the podium and is thus implied to be a big shot in her society; compare how norn have Skarti and humans have Jennah repping them so other nations are sending in their heavy hitters already) rather than a councillor. After all, we've already interacted with Ludo's sister Zudo, Varkk, Haia, Phlunt, and Flax from the council among others in the past when we needed high-ranking asura representation. :)
There's already an undead Tybalt. After his death, if you're a Whisper you can find an event in Bloodtide Coast where you have to kill the Risen Charr champion. That event ONLY appears for that select group of players.
@@JebroUnity No, it's not Tybalt. Just like there isn't a Risen version of Sieran for that event but you face another type of Risen instead. To me the Risen we fight in the Bloodtide's Forgal/Sieran/Tybalt events seems to indicate the particular Risen who delivered the death blow to our mentor, thus we avenge their deaths.
The Avatar of the Pale Tree is still in a coma, which means that she has been out for 7+ years. One of the Firstborns is running the ship atm. Caithe seems to be the representative sent on international business. The Norn on the right is one of Knut's sons.
Not in coma. She's been recovering since we reforged Caladbolg in the "Knight of the Thorn" side quest. The latest information comes from the sylvari Firstborn diplomat Aife during the Icebrood Saga Champions where she confirms that the Pale Tree has been recovering but it will take more time: > Player: How is the Pale Tree faring? > Aife: Healing is a long and arduous process, especially when wounds run deep. But since the defeat of the jungle dragon, she has recovered a great deal thanks to you. Which is admittedly a bit odd because we know ley lines cross the Grove and Maguuma Jungle as a whole, and every other ley-crazed mortal and dragon champion around the ley lines received a massive power boost as per the bounty, Drakkar and Champions lore, so it's weird that the Pale Tree hasn't received a massive magical boost by now to speed up her recovery process.
Do you know if there will be more homesteads that Anet will add like maybe a cyberpunk cantha new kaineing homestead? Or anything more than just the normal one they showcase here?
Jebro is not thinking straight about bringing other players resource nodes into his homestead. He hasn’t thought that through yet to see what a nightmare it would create. It’s okay that he’s so excited about this feature, but let’s wait until it’s released and see what we can do with it.
I dont think itd be a nightmare? Its just a fun idea xD In ESO for example you literally can do this ^^ so its not out of the realms of possibiliy at ALL :)
I don't know about the nodes things. From what I read it seemed like an odd phrasing just to say what we already have. You can go to your home instance and gather the nodes simultaneously. I do hope they add more nodes that we can earn. There haven't been many or any in the last two expansions.
There are 2 things I noticed that needs to be fixed, Spear 3 is not considered a weapon 3 attack for Rocket Punch, and also the spear 3 throw is not even considered a ranged attack for Aim-Assisted Rocket.
@@JebroUnity Yeah, I just posted on the engineer feedback post on the forum. I added a few more things like the defiance break on the spear 4 tooltip not making any sense (it says 732, but its actually doing either 200 or 332) its like it is taking into consideration 200cc from the 2s stun, another 232cc from the launch and also 300cc from the 3s knockdown. I think it should either say 532 or be separated into 2 values: 200 and 332. And also about the mismatch in the rocket punch ICD being 5 seconds but if you use spear 3 there is a 4 seconds between flipping it on and being able to throw it, so you could either get 2 rocket punchs after waiting the ICD, or maybe the devs will not allow that and will only trigger either on the throw or in the activation.
I cannot get over the level of control we seem to have over decorations. People have created incredible guild halls with the current system. Homestead decorations are going to be out of this world.
With the ability to invite friends to decorate your homestead, i could see people hiring someone to decorate their homestead for them. A sort of Homestead decorator. Especially if said person had created and showcased their own amazing designed home.
9:18 It's burning duration increase not stacks. you inflict 2 stacks of burning regardless, either for 4.5 seconds or 8.5 seconds with your current build.
Skill 2's focus should also do an aoe and focus 3 or 5 targets, not just one or switch the focusing target to skill 3's aoe and any target focused the skill flip throw conduit hits

The changes i want to see them make to engi spear is to make skill 2 give a small burst of speed (like swiftness or superspeed) .The 1st part of skill 3 should be a lighning field and a projectile block while it charges and the 2nd part a ground targeting with a larger radius . The distance of skill 5 should be at least 600 and with a faster cast time. They have been so many times that it was interupted by an enemy cause its so slow for the animation to play out Overall its a fun weapon to use for sure and am even more impressed by the visual effects across the board
Jebro always gets the best guests on the Lightbringer’s podcast! I follow all of them. Janthir Wilds is looking great so far, but I try to keep my expectations in check, because Anet’s track record after the initial release of EoD has been hit and miss. I know that this expansion is going to be well worth the cost, just by looking at the features shown so far, and it can only get better. I hope that the story included in this expansion will be more satisfying than the SotO story was.
They have kinda said what they learnt about story telling from Soto with the amount of time they had to share being less than the characters they introduced. Im pretty certain they learnt sooo many lessons they will begin to bring in these future expacs! Cheers for the comment!
I understand the ranger spear fantasy that was talked in here but as of now the weapon has several issues until it achieves that. + The weapon feels too much like a greatsword now. Needs adjusting. Also if I was designing a new weapon to ranger I would focus more on nature magic at ranged as we even now only have staff to fill that fantasy.
If a ´"Southsun Cove Beach Front Property" that you could have al alternate Homestead appeared in the shop I would swipe so fast my credit card would melt.
Imagine they add that as your vacation property. But if you don't log in after a couple of days, the Karkas will invade and destroy your home and you have to kill them.

Nah it's not unsalvagable. In fact from the underperforming weapons it's mostly in the top tier of the most likely to be popular once it's balanced out. The kit is fun. It's just so slow and lacks impacts (partly) because of it. Attacks are fun, look cool, flow well. At 3x speed, but still haha
@@DemethVLK Your counter is cognitively dissonant. How can it both be a top performer and lack impact? Read my second post where there's a link to the feedback thread on the spear. It objectively performs worse on single-target fights than any other spear. The 1 is objectively the same attack with a different animation whether ranged or melee. The 3 objectively does nothing unless people walk into the mines and if you use it to dash back you turn around, something that objectively stops your AA from affecting the target. Getting five stacks is objectively difficult on single-target fights if you want a weapon swap rotation.
Not really unsalvageable, the animations are great and the mechanic is interesting IMO. However, it's not adding anything new (it's a torment stick) and it's quite clunky in its current implementation. There are plenty of options to fix the kit actually and I'm sure some of them will be implemented before JW: Speed the animations, make its buff refresh its stacks or affect the other skills besides the 5th, give it more condis (hello poison and confusion), give it boon rip, give a flip skill on the mines so they work like thief shortbow 2... And even more stuff that's being proposed in reddit or the forums. That's why I love these beta tests, they can help the devs improve their game a lot.
I'm super excited GW2 is going in this direction. The home instances were useful but it didn't have customization like we had hoped. Homesteads are definitely going to be much more fun to play with. I can't wait!
Literally two issues I have and they're pretty damn small: The 1000 placeable objects may feel limiting. Honestly hope they can up that in time, would be happy to pay for it personally. I don't want to log in and see my alts randomly dancing in a cave. I really hope they're placeable in some way, maybe sitting in an area of your choice doing, you know, normal things. Other than that it's everything I hoped for and more, which is high praise from someone who treated housing as my endgame in Wildstar
Haha Im sure you dont HAVE to have them there at all or doing anything specific like dancing, BUT maybe its dancing or nothing? D:.... jokes Im sure its not haha. Also the 1000 limit is pretty generous. Most mmorpgs or settlement building games have something a little similar. It could be because of server concerns, but also that you could unlock more slots with the mastery/gem store. Also with an item limit it means being more creative, rather than spamming 850 candles out everywhere xD. Cheers for the comment!

Im a simple man and I know whats I likes! 1000 limit is probably enough but knowing me I'm gonna be hitting it with a ton of empty space on my plot. I wasn’t really excited about this feature when I first heard about it, but now I’m seeing that it’s going to be implemented well and has some features that I will want. I wonder if they will ever be able to make homesteads character bound, so when they are available in different locations, we can customize them to different alts?

@@JebroUnity Yeah, I wouldn’t expect to have more than one homestead per account active at a time. You can’t have more than one of your characters active at one time and can’t login to the same account with more than one computer at a time, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
You can also build Roller Beetle tracks in the Homestead. Here's an idea: Make a track, sink SAB barf clouds into the track = since the clouds activate on contact then you can make it so that the next part of the track is a hole with a rainbow road that spawns in if you drive over where the cloud is.
Everything about this feature has exceeded my expectations. The only thing not mentioned that I hope they would include is saving layouts and sharing layout codes. That would be so important for a user-generated-content focused community.
Glad they've improved on eso system for most part. There will still be a few things I'm wondering about, like will non jw players get to see ur home. What will they do with the home portal Stone? Will they allow it to goto homestead too or create a new item to replace it. If there is a teleport to homestead will it put ur char back to where you were or if you log off in homestead will it work like guild hall. Can players be given permission to enter without the owner needing to be logged in? Some of these will probably be no, but have to wait for its release to know for sure. One thing is for sure, i can see them creating new homesteads in different regions and in different sizes and make those be gemstone only of 4-8k gem price tags. Afterall some of those eso houses are $100 bucks lol I do feel this expansion will help decrease the gold bloat anet has created over the years lol
This is the thing that ANET does best. They put a twist on an MMO staple and make something really awesome. Alts that you can put in your instance, mounts that you can park in the stable, insta-gather. That SIMS dev that they hired needs a promotion right away. This is incredible.
