Thanks for this. I bought a new Devon Rex to be with my boy Devon. Tests said she was negative and fully vaccinated but after a week he got very ill. Puked in the morning and was extremely lethargic so took them to the vet. They said the girl cat showed small signs on fcov although not obvious and I’m worried he will develop FIP, his lethargy isn’t normal. Glad if in worst case scenario there may be a solution because I’m overthinking and sad right now.
Our cat is treated with gs-441524. He had the wet FIP with liquid in the chest. He could not breathe but after 2 days of treatment his breathing was back to normal. We are in week 2 of treatment and he looks 100% OK now. Happy as before
You can talk and talk to vets. It falls on deaf ears. Landlords in America pushes people to vaccinate, instead titer tests. They don't trust the titer tests. Veterinary community and rental places. Especially corporate rental places. Is working together. Private landlords don't care, but they don't fix their properties when things get wear out. I just stopped having pets all together. My cats'health decline fast in three years we was forced vaccinate. Both had their first vaccines of all kind spread out before age 1 , then at age 10 . They had be vaccinated to have a home. Yearly to. I talked to the vets and landlords, but no one liked the titers tests. They murdered my cats.

Hello Andre, The FCoV (FIP) ImmunoComb kit is not USDA, and therefore is not marketed in the US. Nevertheless, we keep working on approving more products in the US. I would recommend you to follow us to be up to date about future updates.
No definitive tests, but there are still many useful diagnostic tests for a cat suspected to have signs of FIP. They do mention the test is to detect the antibodies of these diseases, so I assume that a negative test result is not enough to rule out FIP, and I'm not even sure if a positive test result would be considered totally "diagnostic", checking for effusion and looking for things like high protein or signs of infection, and cbc tests are usually all checked before confirming any diagnosis when FIP is suspected. You have to check many things so they can get the correct treatment

Sorry to hear of your loss but there is no FIP test available. When pedigree cats are adopted, they provide a health certificate and within their contract it states to also take the kitten to your own vet for checkup within 72 hours. The FIP disease is not a gene. It’s a mutation of a common cat disease.

I've lost a few cats from fip it's a devistating virus especially the wet . It's been years since I've had cats that had it we did have one that survived back in the 90's but I don't know what the vet did he didn't give us much hope but he survived 🤷🏻♀️

Fip is very contagious this strain was seen in the 90s and in another version later on 🤷🏻♀️ now there is a spike in the US of fip wet which has a highly mortality rate. What confused me is it was never reffered to as any covid diagnosis 🤷🏻♀️
It does 2 cases here 😔 its why I'm afraid of cats. My cat had a terrible case then partners cat got what looks like wet form broke up. I don't wanna know the chances of happening 1 in 8000
