You will need a new c-c;ip, you damaged it. Also, just take a Dremel tool and make the retaining groove deeper. It should fix that. For sure a problem with the router, Bosch should do better than that. I think I like your collar fix better though, simple. Great idea. Great video by the way. I'm selling my Festool CMS router table and buying this one. A major downgrade but I just don't need the Festool one anymore.

Hi Pete, I have the corded Makita sp6000 what a great machine. I am looking into getting the Festool “Gecko” suction guide, have you seen or used one? Great video. Mike

Hello. I have seen advertisements for it, but I have not used the Festool Gecko. Looks like it would be useful on cuts when you can’t use clamps on your track. Thanks for watching!

Good video. I’m on the market for a benchtop table and this one seems like a popular choice. How did you overcome the warped table? There are lots of comments from folks having similar issues. Cheers.
@PetefromBaltimore
@PetefromBaltimore Месяц назад
Greetings, The table is pretty flat for approximately 6-8” on either side of router bit. It’s the edges of table that drop off by 1/16” or so. I’ve been able to work around this by applying downward pressure to the work piece near the center of table / bit. Hope that helps helps.

I'm so glad to know how much you have appreciated your time in Puglia. Should you come back one day, don't forget to visit other unmissable towns like Trani, with its incredible white Cathedral overlooking the sea, Bari and its historical center, Giovinazzo and Molfetta, Castel del Monte with its unique octagonal shape and further North the beautiful Gargano Peninsula with its jewel towns of Vieste, Peschici and Rodi, then the Ionian coast with Gallipoli and Taranto ... and if you spare some time, the incredible city of Matera that actually lies in nearby Basilicata. Ciao from Torino and ... keep traveling!

@@PetefromBaltimore Ciao Pete, I'm glad to read that you have already enjoyed the incredible 7,000 years old city of Matera with its "Sassi" dwellings! It used to be the shame of Italy few decades ago and now has become and incredible tourist destination. But many other places in Puglia (and the rest of Italy) are worth the visit, trust me! The lift mechanism is built into this Bosch router’s base assembly. Doubtful it can be used with a Dewalt router. Maybe Dewalt offers something similar?

Got one for $60 today. Rust on the supporting columns, a lot of gunk and old saw dust and it doesn't turn on. Upon checking, its missing the motor brushes. Hopefully those are the only reason why it won t start.

Thanks a lot for sharing. Just ran into this yesterday. I've installed it in my bench dog extension and I also bought a dust kit. The kit took some modification to get the hose connected to vacuum. HOWEVER it still dumps dust. I think because of the other unused holes in the base. Have you run into this?
@PetefromBaltimore
@PetefromBaltimore 3 месяца назад
Thanks for watching. I would guess the dust collection is about 80-85% effective in my setup. There is definitely dust dropping below the router and table. I attribute it to gravity negating some of the shop vac’s effectiveness in collecting saw dust. That’s pretty good compared to many of my other tools.

Hard to say what went wrong. Its probably best to go back in and make sure all blades are installed correctly. Also, maybe check belt to verify its correctly seated. Good luck.

2:45 - I do not condone White Lithium grease as a lubricant given that the wood dust will cling to the grease and cause the grease to congeal, and it becomes a real mess to clean. I would use WD 40 or dry lubricant. Thin oil like 3 in 1 is a good bet. All in all, like all machinery, preventative maintenance is planned maintenance and it can be once a month or every 3 or 4 months, depending on the number of hours in use. Thank you.

Thanks so much for this. I had actually lost my clip when it had failed. After seeing this video, I ultimately installed a collet from one of my never-used countersink bits in one of my bit sets and tightened it hard enough to hold the rod in place. Finding another spring clip has proven to be extremely difficult, although someone else in the comments mentioned using a cotter pin, which sounds like a pretty good idea to help take the load off the collet.
