Very disappointing to see the River crossing project awarded to Wilco. Pidherney's is a reputable contractor with the bid low price and can self perform the major scopes of work. Wilco's price should have already included any efficiencies by having both jobs, sounds like bid shopping. Both contracts require contractors to coordinate with each other - what extra costs would be legitimate and payable? Nothing by Pidherney's as it was known Wilco had the flood job before the bid close and coordination was required. Also, when the flood berm job was bid, it was known there was a River crossing job that would require coordination. Wilco will also have a sub-contractor onsite to perform the crossing while Pidherney's would self perform = same amount of contractors onsite. Very disappointing to see our tax dollars spent this way. It's not right.
All these meetings show are how severely out of touch council is with their community . They lack any form of empathy towards these people who they are ripping their homes away from and yet they are still selling vacant lots in the floodway in Rosedale?? Their all puppets that have zero experience, the majority of them yet they act like they are so knowledgeable and up to date with what's really going on in this community. I guess if you run for town council all your worries go away as far as expropriation goes!!! and they can afford to take more incentives from the work they funnel out. Shame, shame and if we do have another flood it will really hurt Drumheller because of all the damage from the berms that were built!! They will probably fall over or cave in by that time what a joke

Get ready folks for your tax shock, Hope you are all listening to the massive increased policing costs for a start for the whole province. Just maybe the town should have saved a lot more money and skipped the massive waste of “wants” , beautification, trails, etc. and all their associated costs .
I love Drumheller, and I hope to return soon someday (I'm in Ontario now). I am grateful for the tourists that would flood us during the summer months, they are a lifeblood for the community. There is so much potential for the valley both with regards to its community and tourism that can be further explored and developed. I see a bright future ahead.
Did you watch the full 2:25 Hour presentation? By building a better community overall it's better for residents and visitors (who are also potential residents).
