Heartbreaking and beautiful, but hey, it's The Cure. They make me love, laugh and cry. I don't think anyone in the music industry is as passionate as RS

Yes, I really think it's all gone, not in general but for The Cure... Robert never stop repeating the same things again and again and again... and again, he never stop repeating it's over, that he can't do it again, that he does not feel anymore, that he won't do it some more, that he doesn't want what he did, he had a change of tense, he never stops repeating that's the end, so boring what The Cure have become, no inspiration, no intense feeling, nothing, it became empty And what is very surprising is people who says "Ooooh, that's The Cure !!! It is so Curish !!!! It is the new Disintegration !!!!!" (even if Disintegration was such a deep album, very creative, very emotional and since Wild Mood Swings The Cure never knew creating good songs, but kept on doing empty songs just to say "it's over" Truth is The Cure stopped to exist as a band and to create since 1996 with the Wild Mood Swings album ! I thought that if there was 1 band who could never die, it was The Cure, but they finally proved me wrong... I kept on believing they would eventually be back some day as good as they used to be, I thought Wild Mood Swings was only a mishap, and then came (4 years later, it's so called "dark pendent" : Bloodflowers And I found is so empty, so poor emotionally, creatively ! And people still told "Ooooh, that's The Cure !!! It is so Curish !!!! It is the new Disintegration !!!!!"... but it wasn't... That only was what they tried to convince themselves it was, but it was obvious the level was so much under anything The Cure have ever created until the mid-90's ! But I kept on hoping, they would be back, I said "Only two mishaps on a whole BRILLIANT career, that's nothing ! That can happen to any band And 4 years later they released The Cure, it was a little better than Bloodflowers and Wild Mood Swings,, some (very rare) songs made me hope they can again become as good as they used to ("Labyrinth" and "Truth, Goodness and Beauty")... The 12 other titles of the album were at best acceptable (for 6 of them and a catastrophe for the 6 remaining) So I waited again, hoping for their return a 4 years later they released "4:13 Dream"... Not very bad but it was bad... It was not excellent, not even good or acceptable either, it was a wall of noise but it was not very bad either, just bad... And then I understood they were over, they won't come back ever... but I still have a little hope maybe they might, so I kept in tune, I waited 15 years for Songs Of A Lost words, I listened to some demos, and some songs played live just like this one and, Oh, my Goddess, It is so empty, so emotionally and creatively poor (in the lyrics, in the musics and in any visuals) !!! And it is not even released, I don't know when and if it will be someday They became sooooooo boring ! In 1977, Robert Smith sang in Easy Cure "I Want To Be Old"... Then I guess he's happy now... He became old suddenly in 1996, and very very very old now ! He's only 65 but in his heart and mind, he's older than Jeanne Calment in her last days (and she was 122 years old !)

A song to relish, but don’t share - as you may not be “understood “. Let others find their own

IF I never got another song released officially from them again besides this and "A Boy I Never Knew," those two would be enough to make me okay with that. They both really, really need to be put out one day already.

I was 18, just got my books for class and a second hand portfolio, was walking down Thayer street in Providence RI and A Forest was playing in one of the shops. I stopped, walked in, asked who they were listening to and drove to Anne and Hope and bought Seventeen Seconds on cassette. That was 1989 and I have never gotten tired of their music. I never will.

Sicuramente tra le prime 10 canzoni più belle dei Cure. Testo e musica sono davvero belle ma la voce di Smtih la rende davvero eccezionale (specialmente nella versione in studio)

I’ve lost two very meaningful people in my life. I was ignoring my feelings for so long and I came back to listen to this and it hit different. I bawled for the entirety of the song. It felt good, to pinpoint those emotions. To give them a name, even if they were just lyrics. Everything about this beautiful song allowed me to release those pent-up emotions. It was beautiful. To feel everything, it was majestic, painful, needed. Thank you so much, Robert Smith. 🖤

Some fantastic comments in here. Found this video again on a drizzly Monday in South London. I first listened to the cure at Reading festival in 2012 and I've been obsessed ever since. Been lucky to see them a number of times in the last 12 years, most recently at Wembley arena in December '22 and they once again blew me away. Proceedings started with this beautiful unreleased number. Pray we get another tour in the next few years.... and that long anticipated 14th LP. Forever in our hearts and minds, forever The Cure 🖤

I am 52 years old and my handwriting is still almost identical to the one you have shown in your lyrics of The Cure's song... They were my lifeline in my adolescence, I had the entire discography, I was going to look for the B-sides to find everything they had created...I translated them, I even drew Robert...at that time I painted...I dressed the same, I wore my hair the same, I fell in love with someone who was almost the same...And I knew They converted like a cassette tape that used to be used to clean the players every time I listened to them in my loneliness and my problems because they had the power to clean me, they protected me and gave me the strength to move forward...I owe them my life almost... And today with all my burdens on my back, and with more added, without thinking about those that have to come because life is too unfair and hits mercilessly and if you have a sensitive soul you still feel it much more ..they continue to help me move forward in this world of dehumanized crazy people where it seems that the unscrupulous egoist, traitor, not to name more unmentionable qualifiers is rewarded...and that someone feels that they already belong to it...but after so many years Listening to a song by The Cure and Robert Smith's voice makes you feel accompanied again...Wow, what a mess I wrote...well...thanks for the lyrics. Seeing the style of the lyrics made me feel different. time the "Pornography" album and with which I met them. A hug🖤
