Very happy to be the first like. Your music has been some of my favorite stuff. I thought my stuff was heavy, then listened to "Just Made My Day" and felt humbled. I'm hoping your days are going well. Cheers.
Thanks a lot Midnight 🙏 Haha, well I’m not sure where that came from - and I haven’t promoted directly because of the topic, people could easily get that wrong, I suppose - but, of course, it’s a dissection of what might run through someone’s mind just before doing crazy stuff. 😊🙏 cheers and have a good one!
Your music is always a treat, an inspiration and a lesson in songwriting and excellence. For my money you are one of the most complete indei artist out there which I've heard in a while. You have such a distinct style and command of craft. How do you do it? :-) Artful yet not pretentious nor stuffy. I love your breaks, choice of practical instrumentation and homage to other musicl forms such as rousing theater music. You have a way of sounding "home spun" while challening the best of the best when it comes to a thick yet sensible production. Bravo my friend, bravo.
Listening (again) to several of your tracks while my wife is setting up for an instrument petting zoo at the local library for kids. Playing your songs from my phone into an amp via bluetooth 😊👍🎶
Thanks 😃 If you’re into more heavy tunes, you’re welcome to check out In the Remains, it’s the darker sibling to Pictured Within 😎 I’ve released two songs, during last month, third on it’s way - here’s a pre link to work in progress, master, version 3 🤘 www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/pv2z4z6p7vroipp8tkf1g/In-the-Remains-Some-die-young-test3.mp3?rlkey=sn3etv3yrww1reg3g3mdce3kg&dl=0 //Mats
Thanks 😊 Paul at Evelon is really good at his craft, and extremely helpful too. If there are any problems in the mix, he hears and pinpoints them so that I can fix them directly on mix level, letting him do his mojo from higher grounds.
Are you familiar with any of Steve Vai's vocal work such as "All about Eve"? Some of your material has a similar feel,...yet, you are ALL your own.:-) Love the compositional textures within this work. I appreciate how one can hear something new with each listen. I don't think non-musicians will truly understand how professional and crafty this is. Any true musician worth a pack of strings will study this and likely re-examine ongoing works of their own which they feel is "good enough". Artists like yourself raise the bar. Bravo Sir.
OK, now you got me blushing on my own here. When I create songs I think of them as a piece of embroidery, where I challenge myself to use threads with different textures, colors, patterns and so on - the goal is to get a top layer that is listenable, sometimes even catchy, but underneath there must be more layers, as you point out. Thanks for your analysis and extremely uplifting words, you brought me to tears 🙏 I’ve listened to Vai but mostly his 80s’ work, which I just love. A tips for ”threaded” pop music to check out is the Swedish duo Big Money from the 90s, they had ABBA’s producer, Mikael B Tretow, so it’s world class. They made two albums that are still up there. Once again - thanks 😊
Thanks 😃 it was rather journey to grind out text-to-picture using Midjourney to tell the story of the lyrics, I’m glad you like it! Got my inspiration from the drawings of Peter O’Donnell from the Modesty Blaise comics from the 80s.
@@PicturedWithin_music 🙏 Life and art are struggles defined...but these struggles make the music and have the agency to touch others. In your case, very deeply. 🙂 Your talent and music are like a fresh new landscape full of invigorating new wonders. Love and light.
Thanks alot 😃 well I even tried to pitch it to Candice a few years ago, but no respons at all, so I finished it my self, came out as good as I could lift it, but I sure would have loved to hear them sing it 🤪 Thanks for your cheering support 🙏
