Damn, I believe a lot that Rachmaninov got very inspired by the start of second part of this piece in the begining of his concerto no, after the introduction, when the theme begins with the orchestra and is repeated by the piano. Don't you notice too the very close writing method on the sheet? Almost a plagia lol.
Spirituelle, sensorielle et rebelle, la musique de ce compositeur reflète des impostures secrètes, explore des plaisirs sereins, un monde de rêves renaissants🌺🕊
First, second Nocturne... are just so flashy so sad so majestical so elegant so reserved so much emotion so much expression so much tendency... My favourite Nocturnes of all of them out there.
I’m sorry to be that guy but the recording is not in the same key as the sheet music. I say this as a very frustrated baritone who can’t find the lower key music that the recording is actually playing.
Quelle merveille !
Smooth reading errors in 47:20/28 and 52:19/27. This shouldn't be the case. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jIkweLLTigs.html : Fauré is playing Fauré!
01:09 In m. 26, can someone please explain the use of notes with two stems and flags suggesting different note lengths? How is it possible on the flute (apart from, say, multiphonics) to play more than one note simultaneously?
Those notes are not played simultaneously, if I am looking at the correct measure. They are written very closely together, but you play them separately. You have to jump from one note to the other. However it would be really cool if there were harmonics or multiphonics in here.
@@catthebatflute Thanks for answering but I'm not sure I understand. In that bar there are shared noteheads with quaver/eighth-note stems & flags in one direction and semiquaver/16th-note stems & flags in the opposite direction. And quavers take twice the duration of semiquavers, so my query is how is it possible to play the non-shared semiquavers when the quavers have half their durations still to sound? Hence why I was asking if the notation was an indication to play two notes at once. Hope this helps clarify what I mean :)
No. 2 is a masterpiece. It oscillates, so symmetrically, between righteous grandiosity and an almost “smiling” resignation in just a few bars-only Scriabin can do this IMHO.
My first time hearing Ullen--- and I'm thoroughly impressed--- and these studies. Phenomenal beauty! Wondering why Markus Becker didn't include these Special Studies in his so-called complete Reger Piano Music? Becker's Reger traversal is stone cold; would that Ullen had taken up that mantle! Chopin would be delighted by his playing. Gorgeous, hands down. Thanks you for posting!!!! Still flabbergasted that Reger wrote these! Will (new) wonders never cease?
