I think that this is FANTASTIC!!! ... About 6:04 I moaned because I remember the heavy handed inks of Geroge Bell (Sgt Fury # 6). It will forever be a mystery to me why Stan picked him and later the ulter-minimalist Vince Colletta to ink Jack's masterpieces.

Hello, I just received my Batman Year One Artist Edition and I noticed something on the book. It seems that the front cover is not aligned with the back cover. As a result, the inside pages "stick out" slightly from the book. Measuring the width at the top and bottom of that front cover, I lost a few millimeters. Yet the book shows no signs of bumping or collapsing. Is this a manufacturing defect on the whole stock ? Or is it just my bad luck? Thank you in advance for your answers!
The grey pages are an interesting contrast to highlight the art. I still marvel at the contrasting styles between this and 'Born Again'. Same writer and artist team, but a completely different book.
I really don't think Frank's work endures this level of scrutiny: treat each page like fine art, and the human eye is going to evaluate it as such. Neither the illustration nor the quality of writing is remotely good enough to soar from such heights.
French editions are usually called Tirage de tête, or tirage de luxe. For Spirou you have different album series, the regular one, which started in the fifties and one by star artists. Hence Le Spirou de Yann et Schwartz: La Femme Léopard.
Thank's for sharing! I started collecting X-Men with 150 which was when he had just started up after Byrne left. So despite being a huge Byrne fan my X-men was Cockrum's version. I would love to buy this but I already have too many Artist Editions and too little space so can't really justify it unfortunately.
