You are correct that this is a partial video and does not show the signatures. This video is intended to go along with a mini-book project I designed for The Button Farm and only shows a small bit of how to wrap the covers. It is not intended for a full process.
This video was made in conjunction with a mini album kit published through The Button Farm. It is to show just one small part of the entire kit. The entire kit including step-by-step directions, photos and papers is available through The Button Farm. Thank you.
Hi Suzanne. This video is meant to be used in conjunction with the written directions that comes with the kit. Once you purchase the kit (or the written directions by themselves), you'll get step-by-step measurements and photos. Thank you.
Suzann, I'm creating a new step-by-step video today on how to create the accordion. I'll post it by noon Central time today 7-2-24. Thanks for your patience.
The triple slot pockets with cut-outs, where you had the three tabbed cards. Is that a die that can be purchased? I really love this collection from Stamperia! I’m hoarding mine, but love what you’ve done with your collection!
Hi Wendy. No sorry, not a die. I made it up. It's pretty easy actually. (1) Decide how big you want your tab pages (2) For the first tab (or the one closest to your main page, add a 1/2" for the hinge. (3) For the second or middle tab, add 3/4" and score at 1/2" and at 3/4". This will give you 1/4" space between the 1st and 2nd tab. The third tab add 1" additional and you will score at 1/2" and at 1". This will give you enough room so that each tab will fold nicely over the other while still giving you room in between to add lots of fabulous junk. Hope this helps.
I'm sort of chuckling to myself. If I call it Art Glitter Glue (which I've done for years), people can't find it. I think from now on I should reference the entire name and show the label. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@sandrakennedy1465 You can contact The Button Farm at 918 207 9515 and they can perhaps order it for you. If that doesn't work, let me know. So sorry but I'm not in their state so hope you don't mind calling them direct. I'll send them an e-mail and give them a heads up. Thank you.
I love your dedication to nice, clean work. But, these videos are slow and feel incomplete. In 10 minutes you glued one piece of paper to three pieces of chip board. If you are new to making videos you should start recording more of the process and then edit the video to show more progress.
hola, lindo álbum. Tengo los papeles. Tienes un tutorial donde enseñes a hacer la estructura? Quisiera hacer un regalo en honenaje a mi abuela. Por favor ayudame. Estoy en Sur América. Gracias
This is a lovely album! I did purchase the kit; however, I must say that I would've rather had a video tutorial than step-by-step written instructions. I do appreciate the effort put into the instructions, but I personally learn better watching rather than reading.
Thanks for your comment Lindsey. I don't produce online videos as I'm not good at it ; ) I've been writing instructions for years and can do that OK. But unfortunately not set-up for video instructions. That takes a bigger set-up and more room than what I have in my studio. Maybe in the future?
Do you mean at the very corner? Usually when I do a corner, it's mitered so that you have just a bit left - but not 1/4". I think 1/4" would leave too much bulk at the corner (but that's just me 😉) When wrapping chipboard with paper, if you miter the corner and leave just a scant (less than 1/8") at the corner, you won't get bulk and it will come out nice and pretty - yet covered. HTH.
1/4" allowance for what please? If you mean the horizontal and vertical allowances for wrapping the edges - no. You have to do that yourself. Actually I use a 1/2" allowance for wrapping book edges. HTH
Hi Nancy, what a great explanation of this album. My question is the accordian piece you put together how do you fasten that to the three page album if you need to. Thank you so much, this is the first time making an album
Hi Julie! Not sure I understand your question. This piece is something you attach to the book spine. Pages are then attached to the fins. Does that help?
Hi Nancy I was wondering where the "kit" is from you are talking about in the video? What is Button Farm? Or who is Button Farm? how does one get the kits you are referring to? Many thanks.
Hi Denise. The Button Farm is an online store where you can find craft supplies, card kits, scrapbook kits and mini-book kits. These designs are exclusive to Button Farm. Here's a link to the kits and directions I design: buttonfarmclub.com/search?q=nancy%20wethington
Hi Sharon. I used to use Tyvek but found it added more bulk than what I wanted . . . mainly because I had to then cover the Tyvek with decorative paper. I will say that using Designer Dries Clear adhesive, I've not had that problem (yet) and I've been using it for over 10 years. It also helps to use a good and sturdy cardstock like Bazzill.
Button Farm has always set the bar high, and this book is no exception !!! Wow, I already bought this paper for another project…. May have to go back to the store! Beautiful work! Whoever gets this from you is going to be THrilled!!
It's precision glue tool. You can find it here: www.thedoodlebuginc.com/shop/ADHESIVES/p/Precision-Glue-Press-from-My-Sweet-Petunia-MISTI---IN-STOCK-x72457915.htm
First, let me say that I love the folio. You are a very talented lady! So much so that I decided to purchase the tutorial without the kit. The tutorial seems to be very well written and detailed. Unfortunately, it is written for the kit and not anyone planning to use a different kit. I found out quickly that was a mistake. For instance, there are no instructions or sizes for the chipboard needed to build the book. Second, the card stock does not specify the weight to build the album. That's just a couple of several things missing. While the tutorial is great if you have the kit, it is confusing and incomplete if you plan to use other papers. I feel like I wasted my money (nothing personal against Nancy). Lesson learned.
Hi Jackie and thank you for your insight. You are correct. I write the directions to be used with the kit. Checking the directions (page 2) shows I used a Graphic 45 pre-made album (Tri-Fold Waterfall Album). You are not building the album since it is pre-made. The cardstock used was Bazzill cardstock which I believe is 80# weight. Hope that clears things up for you. You might be able to purchase the pre-made album from Graphic 45, which is sold at many online stores. Hope this helps.
How can I get the Tim holtz orange and teal I think it’s card stock? Went on Tim holtz sight and couldn’t find it. Also I purchased the tutorial can’t wait to start this.
Hi Eleanor. Unfortunately that cardstock is not available any more. What came with the kit was from my personal stash. You might be able to find similar colors in Bazzill cardstock.
Once the kit is sold out, you can check the site and purchase directions only for an nominal fee. Contact The Button Farm for more info please. Thanks Dawn.
Hi Dawn. Since the kit is sold out now, the written instructions will be available by tomorrow. You can visit buttonfarmclub and then search for my name. It will pop up there. Thank you!
