How can I propagate the Artic Snow Bush plant
@AskMrGreenthumbGardening
@AskMrGreenthumbGardening 11 дней назад
Thanks for watching! To propagate the Arctic Snow Bush from cuttings, take 4-6 inch semi-hardwood cuttings in late spring to early summer. Remove the lower leaves, leaving a few at the top, and optionally dip the cut end in rooting hormone. Insert the cuttings into a well-draining potting mix, such as a mix of perlite and peat moss, ensuring at least one node is buried in the soil. Water thoroughly and keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Cover the cuttings with a plastic bag or place them in a propagator to maintain high humidity, and place them in bright, indirect light. Roots should develop in 4-6 weeks. Once rooted, gradually acclimate the new plants to outdoor conditions over 1-2 weeks before transplanting them into larger pots or directly into the garden.

@AskMrGreenthumbGardening
@AskMrGreenthumbGardening Месяц назад
Use a balanced fertilizer with an NPK ratio (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) of around 10-10-10 or similar. This ensures that your plant gets a good overall supply of nutrients. Have a wonderful day and thank you for watching my friend!

What is that stem or scape that grows out the center of the romaine lettuce.
@AskMrGreenthumbGardening
@AskMrGreenthumbGardening Месяц назад
That stem or scape that grows out of the center of romaine lettuce is called the "heart" or "core." It's the central, compact part of the lettuce head where the leaves are tightly packed together. In culinary terms, the heart of romaine lettuce is often prized for its crisp texture and concentrated flavor. Thanks for watching, Stan

Didn’t mention what type of soil you need, how much light, or when you should water it.
@AskMrGreenthumbGardening
@AskMrGreenthumbGardening Месяц назад
Good points, I didn't elaborate on those areas. Black Kow is always a good start with your soil but I would use it 50/50 with any general potting mix with perlite to encourage good drainage. Desert Rose does very well in full sun, and after it's establishment period mother nature will take care of it's watering needs. Thanks for watching!

@AskMrGreenthumbGardening
@AskMrGreenthumbGardening Месяц назад
In Cape Cod, Star Jasmine might struggle due to the colder temperatures, especially in winter. It may survive in sheltered locations with protection from harsh winds and cold temperatures, but it may not thrive or bloom as vigorously as it would in its preferred zones. Love Meyer lemons. You say that citrus do well in full sun, and they do. I seem to have an issue with leaf miners when grown in full sun though. If grown in a dappled light, under a coconut palm for example, the leaf miners tend to either leave them alone completely, or rarely bother them. I need to get another Meyer lemon, which produce year-round as opposed to seasonal with other citrus. I had one when I lived on another property and would like to get another. I also have finger lime, key lime, and ponderosa lemon, which is one of my favorites. Nice video

@zoeyshoots
@zoeyshoots 3 месяца назад
@@AskMrGreenthumbGardening. Good question. It was wrong for me to assume that they are not monitoring their source. Although I have read and seen several reports of growers experiencing issues with crops after using black cow. Since yesterday I’ve learned that certain herbicides used on hay fields are passed through to the compost. . No actual facts as to whether or not black cow obtains their compost from those farms. As I stated. Be careful. People are suggesting to plant a few peas in the mix before using it, to confirm germination.

@@AskMrGreenthumbGardening Hello, the company has yet to contact me. But, I have chosen to buy 3 bags of BK potting soil today to fill up a raised bed that I had emptied of old potting soil. I did so because I had done a sorta "test" with my bagged BK manure. I made a "tea" with it, and watered a few peas with it. Legumes are very sensitive to the herbicides, and my peas would have died if it had any herbicides in it. So, I trust it now. Your saying that it's good is nice to hear too. I had seen some videos that said that it COULD have herbicides gave me some apprehension about using it before though. Thanks for your reply. 😁
