Namast! I don't think so, as peak time is during Dussehra during that time prices of hotels are too high, and the city is crowded due to celebration. But still you may get decent deal online and you don't have to pay in advance while booking through Agoda and booking.com as they option in which you may book and pay hotel , as this would give you an ease of mind of having an option when you reach there and if you whish to explore the option available on you own once you reach there, you may do that too.

May be they may have raised their tariffs now and it also depends on the season and month you are visiting . You may search in Agoda, and you may be able to find some other cheaper options, too .

Hi @Surojitguha thanks , we stayed at a random hotel that our auto wala bhaiya took . That was not that good but was near to the main bus stand . As we visited at the Eve Dussehra festival, that day hotels were running full, and prices were very high as compared to the normal days and were not able to find a hotel of our choice.

In terms of expenses, we found Udupi to a bit on cheaper side compared to Gokarna , but both places have their own unique charm. If you are more of a beach lover and would love to party or want to go for clam/peaceful walk from one beautiful beach to another or like to have a drink 🍸 while watching sun goes down in sea then Gokarna is your place (you can get a mini Goa vibe here at lesser cost compared to goa) . You can go for a beach trek here as it has some of the most beautiful beaches surrounded by mountains ⛰️ . On the other hand, Udupi, which stands as a symbol for the temple and cultural tradition of Karnataka. Udupi is a small coastal town in southwest Karnataka . With pristine beaches, ancient temples, lush greenery, and thriving river sides, there are a lot of things to do in Udupi. Whether you are a nature lover, a history buff, or a religious tourist, you will find something or the other to keep you entertained.
