Welcome I have been quilting for a few years now but the past two I have made so much improvement that I thought I would record them to show my family how I make them. Then I thought, why not show the world!! So here I am!
I have Mental health problems and pain issues so this project is helping me and hopefully will help you in some way too I want to make this channel about things I do in my life as well as quilting though I do do a lot of quilting!!
I really enjoy your positive feed back so do comment or give me ideas of what you would like to see concerning quilting Thank you for watching :)
Hello my lovely friend. I know I have been missing from a bit . 😂I was hoping to be back this month but do yet. But soon I just want to say congratulations on making it to 1k. Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you. God bless you and your family and happy birthday. Have a blessed morning.
HI. My name is spelt Berenice so slightly different. I love my name but get called Bell or Bernie, can never make up my mind in my first videos I mention this. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. Take care :)
Hi bell I love your channel because its real , I've just started quilting , I'm 70 , I live in Cardiff , but from Sussex, omg sounds like a dating profile 😂 I love this quilt , I got some african fabric and like the small squares , keep up the good work , love the demos
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Yep, never to old to learn. Or always learning. I try to be myself, no airs and graces. My sons say I am a natural in front of the camera. I think its because I like to chat! lol. Funny I lived in Swansea for about 3 years then in Scotland for 30 years but am in West Sussex now. Oh and an Essex girl born! so there are some details back to you. :) So glad you are here and keep up with the quilting. Take care
Hi. Thank you for leaving a comment and especially for subscribing. Welcome to the world of quilting and look forward to hearing from you again. Take care :)
Good morning from Wyoming. Your channel popped up on my RU-vid feed. I loved it. Thank you for explaining as I could understand. I am X7 years old and just took up quitting. I was wondering could one make a postage stamp quilt without the without the frame of each block and just the 1 inch squares the whole quilt? Again thanks. Have a good day. ❤
Hi. lovely to know you are from Wyoming. Had to check the spelling there :). I am so glad you have joined the quilting clan. yes, you can most certainly make a large quilt with just squares. I have just made one from those squares that I showed on the latest video. I will put it in another video so if you subscribe and set notifications then you will know when I upload videos. Thank ou for your comment and take care :)
Those little squares would take so long but it is a good way to use your scraps! On the channel “The Last Homely House” Kate actually made curtains out of these postage stamp squares! They’re beautiful!
I watch and subscribe to Kate on The Last Homely House and have seen her curtains. I still have ideas for more small square quilts so keep watching and thank you for leaving a lovely comment. Take care :)
I love listening to quilting vids while I muck around with my own sewing machine or just chill and RU-vid…. ‘cos I don’t know anyone who sews apart from my aunt whom you remind me a lot of... so I’m pleased to come across your channel, my new sewing buddy! 🤗🤗🫶 I’ve been using my 2” inch squares to make a postage stamp quilt top over the last year or so… but now I’ve swapped to scrappy pink and black sawtooth blocks that I saw on My Sewing Room and MerryMabelMarket channel… no precision, just mindless sewing… it’s so fun, have you tried them?
Glad I can keep you company and we are now sewing buddy :) I have made a wall hanging quilt with 2" squares. On my next video I have videoed my living room and it is there along with other quilts. I haven't done a Sawtooth yet but might make a block for here. Thank you for leaving a lovely comment and take care :)
Lovely quilts! I have a postage stamp quilt on my todo list. You make it look so easy. I tend to overthink putting the colors together. Thanks for this wonderful video. Teresa from VA ❤
Thank you for leaving your comment. Yes, its a great project to do. And I find it relaxing as not much thinking. So just go with your instinct when putting the squares together. I tend to over think with life but with quilting I don't and that's so good for my mental health. So start with it and let it grow naturally. Take care :)
HI, I can't find the book with these patterns in at the moment but think it is by Ellie Sienkiewicz. There are simpler Baltimore books out there to if you are new to this. I have a few of Ellie Sienkiewicz books as I love her quilts. I used to hand stitch Baltimore quilts but nowadays I machine stitch them, as here. Thank you for leaving your comment. Take care :)
Welcome back 🎉 I see you ha e decorated your sewing room It looks lovely! Would love to sèe the rest of your wall hangings😂 Stay well Jan from Jacksonville is
I have a dish with 1 1/2” squares next to my machine. I put 2 together and use as a leader and ender when making my main project (I call it my bonus quilt). I end up with a pile of 2’s, then 4’s then keep going until as big as required! At the moment I’m making 9 patches (using background fabrics with the coloured fabric) then border the squares with 2” background. These blokes are going to be the alternate block with a 9 patch made with 2 1/2”squares…. All blocks are 6 1/2”. I hope to donate these bonus quilts from my scraps to the Linus Project. 😊❤
Great job❤ I have a tendency to go tooooo fast when doing free motion I end up talking outloud to remind myself to SLOW DOWN😅 My husband thinks I'm a bit daft!! Love your postings. You have become one of my quilting buddies Great job Jan from Jacksonville Florida
HI Jan and thank for your lovely words. It is great to know you are watching my video's and certainly gives me incentive to carry on recording. My son is with me for a holiday at the moment and he is making another quilt. Lots and lots of triangles!!! I haven't filmed him though but might put the finished quilt here when I get to quilt it. thank you again and take care.
Thank you John and so glad you enjoyed this video. Also glad that I gave you encouragement to make this quilt. I know I was very pleased with it. In fact I am taking it to show off at a group tomorrow. Happy sewing :)
Watching you,is like watching myself LOL, you are so natural and I can relate to what you doing and saying, as far as unpicking, and get confused, making the same mistake more than twice, and when I thought I was sewing merrily along, only yo find out the bobbin ran out.....will definitly want to try making a quilt like yours.......will be looking to see the end result.
Thank you for leaving a comment. Yep, I wanted to leave these mistakes in. We tend to see the perfect making of quilts etc but life isn't like that so. Some say "Your so clever making quilts"! But here is real life. Thank you for watching and take care :)
