Danke. L.
Endwall... eaves are failing...roof is leaking...TONS OF WET HAY AND LIKELY A FAILING WALL AND ROTTING FLOOR JOISTS... ITS WALLS AND SOGGY STRUCTURE THAT NEED CLOSER INSPECTION.. OUT WITH THE HAY..
We will definitely remove the hay and inspect the things you mention. We took care of the most pressing issue, but will be back to the small barn soon. L.
I really admire you for your incredible drive and perseverance - so much work and so many construction sites... But as the saying goes, "the journey is the destination". It will be beautiful, the garden already looks great. 🤗
Thank you very much! We couldn't agree more. It's all about the journey. Documenting it and making sure we remember it all later in life. We really love all the comments you have written and find them really motivating. Thank you! L.
If you don’t have a use for it I think I would be offering the straw for sale, or giving it away. Hopefully letting the new owner do the work to remove it.
We are currently trying to figure out the best way to dispose of the hay pile and this straw pile. It will be in a future video for sure. Thank you for watching ❤️M
These buildings keep on giving. The incredible amount of work you have to put into cleaning them up since the beginning. You guys are incredible hard workers
When you first started tearing down the walls & the ceilings to see how bad the wood timbers were that were supporting the structure of the house, I was anxious. How overwhelming to buy a house that ends up needing such a major repair. it’s sad to see the skeleton displayed and yet it’s so much better to know what’s wrong and to take care of it so that the building will last another 250 years. If you look at it that way, it’s an honor to be a steward of the building at this time. RIP Zorro. 💔
Hi you two, nice to see you! So much work and dust - as I was watching, it seemed to be dusting off the screen. I'm so sorry you lost your little friend. 😢❤
Thank you . Yes, that dry clay is incredibly dusty. I found out it ruins contact lenses quickly too . Wouldn't surprise me if it could travel up the Internet onto your screen. Thank you, we miss Zorro a lot. L.
Sorry to hear about Zorro! His brother must be missing him also. The new lounge area is a huge job. The floor boards above look newer and in good condition. The carport / garage is a massive job, you both need a medal for the clean up work. Looking forward to seeing the garden take shape & completed fencing.
Thank you. Yes, Wicky has been looking for his brother everywhere. Now he seeks our attention more than before. Yes, the downstairs is a big job, but we will get it done 🍀. The big barn clearout in the back is almost done....but then we will need to clear the barn attics....it never ends 😆. Garden is progressing slowly but surely. We have received pallets of plants and will be planting them soon. Thank you for watching and commenting! L.
Hi, i thought that I lost touch with you. Looks like winter is trying to hang on in your country. I hope you start getting sunshine and warm weather. Best of luck in 2024.
Great lively episode! Good to see that digger at work! Reminds me of when we were planning our gardens around the house. That is a lot of fun isn't it!? Our borders are all mature and beautiful now so we know all the hard work will be worth it. But frankly, we have a lot of them and once they mature, they also require a lot of maintenance! It's great to see things progressing and also to see you guys more and more in front of the camera! 👍❤
Wow, those castle ruins looks so old! Do you know if they were Roman? I know the Romans got up into Germany, at least as far as Trier but I don’t know where you are in relation to that. They don’t look particularly Roman, so Idk. I suppose they could be from some civilization after Rome… Very intriguing. 🤔
Yes, the Romans lived in this area, there are Roman excavations here. There were Keltic settlements here before that. But these ruins date back to the Middle Ages.
When you brought out the “primitive computer”, at 1st I thought it looked like a ghost/halloween decoration, but on 2nd look it reminded me of the WW2 graffiti by Allied soldiers of “Kilroy Was Here”. I don’t know what it would be doing in a German barn, tho, lol.
The most exciting thing about this is that the garden is still so empty now. You can imagine it growing, becoming more sheltered and colourful. Looking forward to seeing it bloom!
